Gary and Dale's Big Adventure

Congratulations Dale! That's one to be proud of. Oh, and you are certainly now on the "you suck" list!

You are a good man Gary. Your place is becoming the Underground Railroad for rescuing C bodies, LOL.

:usflag: :thankyou:

hi all, and thanks very much to Gary for saving my butt (and my car) from sitting out in the evil NC July sunshine. It was a bit erratic buy even for me, but i believe according to another member is one of 7 or 8, see link below.
1970 Fury Convertible Owners

Brian sold it to me. Very nice guy by the way.

So, i saw on the original post on for sale ya'll wanted to see the tag and I will post it there as well, and here. If anyone wants to decode for me, go for it, otherwise I'll try my best later in the day. Again, thanks much to "brother" Gary for saving the day.

Thought I recognized the car, congrats on a great purchase. PM me what you want on my web site to replace Brian's info. If you advance a few pages you will find a complete decode of your fender tag. As far as I know, mine is the only one of the seven to be completely rebuilt, so make your's number two! If you want a step by step on how to (or not to) restore your car, read my whole web site. Enjoy.

hey Bill, thanks, will do. I'll send you something soon. Dale

Interesting Bill....why do you think the build dates are so close, coincidence ?
Never know for sure, but I suspect it was a sales decision. That plus it seems the early ones were dealer ordered as showroom window candy, the later ones were probably all customer orders like mine. Cost also may have been a factor, a reasonably setup convertible was about $4,000 Cdn, mine with the 440 was $6,060 Cdn. Dealers didn't (don't) usually bring in high value, special option cars for new car inventory unless they are pretty sure of customer demand.
