Old Man with a Hat
So I'm in the process if dropping the trans in the Monaco to replace it with the one that's been sitting around after cracking it open to find it was rebuilt.
To which I decided just for giggles I'd unbolt the headers so they'd flop around and I'd be able to get the bell housing past them with out too much trouble. Had some trouble with the forth bolt back in the passenger side. I figure I must have been angry when I torqued it. Rounded the nut on one shoulder. sigh. Get underneath and try again. Same thing. Well fudge what now? I've committed this far, in for an ounce in for a pound. The only way I can see getting it is by maybe, maybe getting a socket on it. 12 point is just gunna round it more and 6 point may not get on there.
That's when I remembered picking up a little gimmick just so I could use the 9mm socket to torque the kick down band. They're not for everybody and not much good on good bolt/nuts. But boys I gotta give these things a heck of a F' Yeah for rounded bolts/nuts. A little hammer under a tube for a dimple and to get it on the bolt and voila.
Picked em up at the local sears before they begin shuttin' em all down for $26 on special.
In the words of someone much wiser than I, Skookum.
