Glenn Frey R.I.P

RIP mate.

Saw The Eagles on their Hell Freezes Over reunion tour in 1996, at the RDS Arena venue in Dublin, Ireland. Was there with my younger sister. Great gig.

Glen was the driving force of the Eagles. An American legend. RIP

2016 may be the year that the music died.
Lemme from Moterhead,David Bowie,CSNY drummer also died, and Mott the Hoople member as well.

All the greats are going, But Barry Manilow and Kayne west still thrive. I dont get it.

Rest in peace Glen Frey. Another Detroit legend has crossed the bridge..... Glen's gone and Don McLeans in jail.

And yet....Keith Richard still lives. Oh the irony.

Gut feel....Cher will be one of the ones we lose in 2016.

I was never a Cher fan, but I went to her show when she came to town 10 years ago. My GF at the time was a fan. I got to say it wasent that bad. I got throught ok

This depressed me, even though he was my least favorite member of The Eagles. In interviews and documentaries he always came off as a bit of (maybe a huge) jerk, and the whole blow-up with Don Felder sucked and diminished the band after Felder left (he was IMO the most talented player of the group apart from Joe Walsh). Count me in "Team Felder" on that one.

That said.... the ego and snootiness had a basis in fact. He was a great songwriter and entertainer, and without him The Eagles wouldn't have been The Eagles at all. Another part of my youth is gone....

30 plus years ago a friend and I were walking the woods of his family's farm. We happened upon the family dumping ground for their old cars. In those woods was a 60/61 Cadillac Hearse, black and rusty but the red velvet inside still was plush. We jokingly had visions of resurrecting that Cadillac hearse with a casket inside with albums of all the dead rock and Roll musicians we could think of. A mural on the side with many of those artists and the theme would be a tribute to Rock n Roll Heaven ....remember being a kid and thinking of stuff like this?

Glenn Frey and Don Henley started out as back up singer and was part of Linda Ronstadt's band.
