Also as far as I know there was not a single factory installation of the 426 for the Hurst.

Are there any pics of that 66 letter prototype somewhere ?

I've never seen a single picture ever.

May take awhile, but I've KNOW I seen it in a Mopar Action or Mopar Muscle or Mopar Performance or Chysler Power or some MOPAR/Hotrod mag. I've got a couple hundred, I'm gonna find it. The guy also owned a 440 powered HURST along with the HEMI.

I'll try to find it....I got two huge boxes of mopar mags.....but I know the article is in one of those issues, some go back as far as the 80's.

A nice Hemi Hurst at Carlisle a few years ago, not factory but still amazing just the same

All of the 501 Hurst 300's left the factory as 440 hardtops. I believe Hurst (or a custom shop) converted 2 of them to convertibles for Linda Vaughn with the 9' giant Golden Hurst Shifter platform for her to stand on for races, shows, and parades.

I don't know for sure...all I'm saying is that I saw this car in a magazine spread (the Hemi 300 Hurst), but it very well may have been done at an aftermarket shop....still looking..

I'm sure there's a few custom 300's running around with Hemi's.

The Hurst promo convertible came from Hurst itself as far as I know. Was a regular 300 convertible with the appearance treatments. There's also one source (think Chrysler 300 Club Intl.) that cites 485 coupes plus one convertible as actual Hurst production figure. Take your pic which one's right.

Could even be George Hurst behind the wheel I guess.
