Grrrr...torque converter options options and various rantings and ravings...

400 block 413 crank cut down to fit. Forged rods forged dished pistons for now im running steel 346 heads. Later when i have the coin ill most likely go with a set of edelbrocks. Have yet to purchase a converter was waiting on the final.specs of the cam from jim. I'll be running a 10" converter from ati stall will be based on the 323 gears most likely.
 
Ok - those cams make more sense then. It's basically a 440. If it were me I'd stay on the smaller side and run a lower stall convertor. You'll be racing much less than just driving it.
In terms of ATI - just tossing this out there but you might look into a PTC. They sell a good piece and is customized for your setup for less money than the off-the-shelf ATI.
