GTO - Question

Call Ames or you can try wrapping it with teflon tape as they suggest in their catalog. It's also possible whoever restored the car used the incorrect year parts and made them fit.

I can confirm Ames Performance is the no1 address to put your request. Download the PDF file for your vehicle and look for your part. You'll find everything in there

What is different about it?
It’s a solid piece and doesn’t swivel and it is not a screw on. It attaches to the convertible top bracket which might also need replacement but one step at a time.

I am not sure what I am missing here?

It looks like they screw in to me. Have you tried taking it apart?

No I haven’t. That piece is the convertible bracket on windshield to which the visor bracket attaches. When I take the visor bracket apart by removing the cap, there is a spring and a small washer inside. I thought I would find some type of telltale piece(s) on the floor when it fell but NO, that would have been to easy. I am hoping there was suppose to be a bushing in there which by compression, holds the visor bracket in place. Seems on that it isn’t screwed in but??????

Remove the whole assembly. I think all you need to do is remove the two screws on the bracket and just that piece should come off. The entire header panel should not be one piece.

No Cupie doll for you and no cigar! Even horseshoes can't save that answer!
