Just a tad early. Gotta get my flood insurance renewed.

And my new spiffy whole house 25kw with 250 gal underground propane tank and Auto Switch are ready to go.
I will slash my wrists before I ever go through again what I dealt with when Irma hit me.

Very early for sure, anyone remember Hurricane Alma in June of '66, our neighborhood was the last pocket to have power back up, almost 2 weeks cooking canned soup on an alcohol stove, Oak branches and moss everywhere.

I was in hurricane Camille / 1969 Pascagoula Mississippi.. we got into a car accident with my Grams 1965 barracuda. Never forget it.

Guess we shouldn't complain abt our weather. One hurricane would equal a lifetime of Wisconsin winters......

Some don't like winter, but if rather deal with snow than hurricanes.
Snow, rain can usually be tolerated, but freaking big wind is another beast altogether. It's right up there with earthquakes and volcanoes. Minus 40 with a couple feet of snow is a piece of cake.

It took two weeks to get power back after Ivan. Like you, wasn't going to go through that again. 250 gal tank and a 22KW whole house generator later, the longest we are without power now is about 10 seconds.

I'll take my earthquakes any day over all these.

Yeah, right. 6 months of total repression and discomfort every winter compared to 3-4 days of driving away to avoid a rain/wind storm every 6/8 years.
c'mon Will... we'll both be shoveling the water off the sidewalk 3 times a day all week...

 It's a friggin rainstorm... :drama:

:thankyou:

I did my best to resist!...

Snow, wind, rain, cold, deal with it...
The only problem I have with it is the mass population going berserk.

Now fire, lava, earthquake, flooding, landslides... No Thank You!
ooops left one local out SINKHOLES!

Yea... you coulda left out the last one... conditions should be good for another one or two this wet season... think it will drive the population north? :D

Nah but it will a least abate the newcomers enthusiasm for "It's such a nice day".
I remember one chatty newcomer that just had to come over to me and a acquaintance of mine from Georgia as we were having our after church breakfast smoke all the way out on the public sidewalk. After the third time she said it I glanced over at Dave and broke the silence.
Wha'da'ya think Dave? His reply verified the glance he gave me when she first spoke, "Seems like a normal day to me" he said.
aaaYup you here for the Hurricanes of '04 Dave? No was his answer, "Now Hurricane Charlie... that was a nice day, all them Yankees clogging up both sides of I-95 heading North out of state.... to bad they had'da come back".

I didn't even look over to see her reaction, just stared up at the blue sky!
