Had to share from Facebook

Well, then let's get the FCBO detectives on this right away and find out "the rest of the story"!:fit:

Here is the basic low down. The dealer owned it for 10 or 20 years and sounds like it was untitled. It was sold to the first owner he had it for either 10 or 20 years. He is the second owner and bought it off ebay 10 years ago. The original tires still hold air.

He commented he has a 72 Polara with less than 100 miles on it too. I will keep everyone posted if he shows pictures of it.

My 69 300 Convertible was one of those Time capsule cars, purchased new in Kentucky, then sold in 1999 moved to New Jersey, 4 months later owner dies, wife parks it (I think Outside) till 2013....Only has 63000 miles but the New Jersey winters was not all that kind to the intieror .

The winters dont usually take a toll on the interior, its the sunlight and the heat. Too bad it sat outside, the winters chew up an exterior pretty good.

Have we seen photos of your prize....?

I am usually one of the guys who drives (and would drive) everything but not in this case.
It is a time capsule of originality. The only way to keep it in this condition is to NOT drive it.

It is a real museum piece. If you want to DRIVE a VIP Fury go and buy another one

He told me he ownes another time capsule, a 1972 Dodge Polara with less than 100 miles on the odo...!

It's a definite museum piece and I'd love to see it firsthand.

So where is YOUR line Carsten?

I deal with a lot of vintage toy trains, and have come across some from my childhood that I remember wanting. Some are in unopened packaging. I make a decision, am I going to keep or sell? If it is a keep, I rip open the package like its Christmas morning and lay on the floor watching the head light run around the track! There is no better way to recapture that youthful excitement than when your the first to rip into it. I don't think there is a person on this board that wouldn't take it on a cruise like it's 1970 all over again. Imagine that new car smell! Your only on this mud ball once, let the next guy hide it away in a museum. Even Leno drives his cars, everyone of them. Drive safely my friends.

I saw an AMC pacer for sale once with a supposed 11 miles on it, apparently when it was delivered the lil ole lady drove into town and back, didn't like it, parked it up and bought something else!! it looked just like that Plymouth condition wise.

Yes, he does. But he also doesn't tend to buy 25-mile time capsules. And he has at least one full-time engineer as his shop hand. If you've ever seen the steam car video, the guy who fires up the steam plant is him. He's a mechanical engineer, who built a lot of Jay's specialty cars. And really, really fast in a Chevron B27. But that's not the point. He has the wherewithal to make things virtually perfect, drive them, and keep them perfect.

They say that it's only original once. This car is so original and unmolested, it would be a crying shame to change that.

That's a good question. For everyone it's different, and I'm not trying to say where that line is. Well, I will say it's somewhere between 80 and 80,000 miles. :)

But what I am saying is, again, most of the value of that car is tied up in it's extremely lo-mileage condition. What's it worth to the right buyer? $25000? $35000? What's a meticulously restored or regular low-mileage VIP worth? $8000? How many miles do you have to drive the $25k car to make it an $8k car?

It's only money, and people can do what they want. I'm not disputing that. I'm just stating my opinion of personalities: there is very little overlap in the people who will pay a premium for that type of museum piece and the type of people who will drive their cars. Every single one of us would drive it. Virtually nobody here would pay the premium to own it.

I wouldnt drive it, then again, I am not buying it.

IF..... IF ...... I happen to see a 1970 polara convertible with that kind of mileage I dont think I would want
it. Maybe I would since I want them all. The one I have has 61000 on the odometer, we got her with 48000 on there ten years ago. I have driven her sparingly. NOW with the purchase of the second convertible those miles on number one will or should be staying still.

Obviously the low miles on this Fury is where the value is but its interesting to see peoples take on the low miles thing
