Hard to believe I didn't know about this forum

Hi. Went to Germany about 12 years ago. Stayed in Hann Munden and Wolfsburg (toured VW). Enjoyed it very much. The scenery/geography reminded me of the smokey mountains of Tennessee.

Sorry, I can't recall the emails.

Cool, hann. Muenden, took my wife there when she visited me cause that town is amazing! Have you been to Kassel? Couple miles from there... thats where i am from and now live in the states ☺

Looks like you'll fit in here quite nicely! Welcome! Thanks for sharing the pictures too!

Yes, I have been to Kassel and also remember Emmen (sp?). The girl I was dating at that time (who I also turned into a C-body nut... She restored a '66 Monaco after we split under good terms) was American with many relatives still in Germany. I recall that we crossed the oldest stone bridge in Europe (Hann Muenden's claim-to-fame) and came to a Ford dealer.

It was Sunday, so we didn't expect to see anyone and I started looking at all the Euro-Fords on the lot. The owner of the small dealer was there and began a conversation. He was a car nut, but his English wasn't any better than my German, so poor Christine had to translate everything twice. She eventually ran out of voice, but we had a great time. I liked Germany enough to stay on two conditions:

1) I would have to have old Mopars.
2) American refrigerator.

The sad part of the trip was we flew back just as they upped security and went from X-rays of baggage to MRI units. All the video we had taken on the trip (often instead of photos) was totally wiped out, including her last memories of her grandfather.

Thanks terrorists.

Welcome Carmine.....arent you the guy who rescued the 71 Polara four door sedan in Citron Yella that now resides in Canada?

Good to see you still around

Yes, that was once my car.I sold it on ebay for a good price. Then the car hauler showed and mentioned his boss was going to pull the BB drivetrain and derby the rest. Luckily he was also very stoned, so I used that as a reason to order him off my property. Then I sold the car to a local guy who wanted to save it. He sold it to the current owner in Canada.

Welcome from Minnesota. You sure know how to make an entrance!

Thats an awesome story. I translated all the time too when my wife visited ☺. Now I liked it in the states enough to stay here and we just had our 2nd anniversary. Couldnt imagine driving those cars there in Germany... just the gas prices alone, would convert it to run on vodka, cheaper than gas almost..

Maybe we all should do the vodka conversion and move to Russia? I read on the news (a couple of weeks ago) that due to a national crisis, Putin himself promised to the citizens that vodka would stay cheap!

I didn't tell you of my plan to open the best Italian restaurant in Hann Muenden and only commuting 2 miles to work.

Worked out good for me thanks! BTW I was looking around You Tube...do you still have the video of the car you posted up years ago? I can't seem to find it.
Welcome aboard!

I turned it private a while ago, then YouTube got bought by Google and my password won't work. I don't really want to get caught up in their system, so I've pretty much abandoned the account.
