Hi i am in New Zealand and have a 67 new yorker with a 440 in it, its LHD auto column shift and has power steering.
I am looking for some headers and cant get any straight answers on what will actually fit it.
I have read on many websites that Hedman Headers #78030 , #78070 and #78076 will all fit but when i tried to double check with Hedman they said no they dont make any for C bodies?
Has anyone here actually fitted a pair of headers to a 67 new yorker 440?

These are B-body Hedman headers that were advertized as "also fitting a C-body". I spent 2 days with a port-a-power with jaws trying to make them clear everything, but they still are in contact with one torsion bar.

The torsion bars are closer together on a C-body than on the B-body.

I bought new $800 polished ceramic TTI headers, but am waiting for machine work to be finished before I can finish the new engine, so I don't know how well they are going to fit yet.

Hooker also makes headers for the C-body, but I couldn't tell you how well they fit either.

What about the shorty style ones as you can make the rest to fit your self, would that work, my main concern is the headers hitting the the suspension a armsas they seem very close to the standard exhaust manifold

I trimmed a little off of the edge of the passenger's A-arm (3/16" + -).

As far as the shorty headers, I have never seen them on a C-body, but maybe someone else here has.

Google TTI or Hooker header C-body fitment/clearance issues/problems, and maybe you can find someone that has dealt with them.

I could likely have some input at some point this summer, but not at this time, as far as how well the TTIs fit.

Very nice car! What brand of spark plug wires are you using?

I believe they are Taylor.

To actually be on topic for a change, there is a tech feature in Mopar Muscle on TTI C-body headers and exhaust on a '69 Newport convertible.

August 2012 issue, page 36.

This is the issue coming out next month? That's something I'd be interested in. I guess with a 318 I've got more space than most of you for headers...

The issue you may run into is someone telling you that B-body headers will work. The problem with this is that the C-body torsion bars are closer together than the B-body.

I recieved the Mopar Muscle magazine in the mail last week, and the '69 Chrysler was a 383 car that they give the details on. I would search the the TTI website and see if they make C-body headers for the small-block.

I've got the Hooker 5113hkr's on my Monaco. Left side fit 100% no issues. Right side the Trans dipstick tube hits, and I have a slight contact with the trans pan front corner and beginning of the collector from primary tubes. I haven't started to bend yet as i merely need the car to go in and out of the garage at this time. Oh 440, BTW.
