Today, February 10, 1906, HMS Dreadnought, the first of a revolutionary new breed of battleships, was christened.
On that day, designer Sir John Fisher quipped, "From now on man has but to fear God and Dreadnought." Ha! A play on the cliché, "Fear God and dread not."
