Hello from germany / 440 New Yorker

Helo!
Some work before Christmas. New clock from @marty mopar . Thank you, works perfectly!
Cable was also cut...hard to fix.

Found this yellow turn signal not connected. Seems like there is an original one made from metal NAPA.

Could anyone make a guess which radio my car had originally? I don't see a code on the tag an there were different options. This image from the hamatrack library shows the possible radios. The other picture the sadly put in DIN radio...

Edit: it has 5 speakers. So it has to be one of the stereo radios.

Do I see a $5 bill for whoever first comes up with the correct answer? My money is on @69CoronetRT

Meanwhile, two pieces of information, both courtesy of the Hamtramck Registry Library:

1. the scan you provided is here:

2. here is the radio part of the option list, and all radios are optional:

So, it looks like anything other than R11 and R13 would have 5 speakers. Why the radio is not coded on either the fender tag or the build sh sheet is a mystery. Perhaps someone asked for the wiring to be put in, but no radio to be installed so they could go aftermarket?

In the absence of information, perhaps the only incorrect choices would be R11 and R13. More freedom for you!

We don't have to guess. You have the answer on the broadcast sheet. If that sheet you posted goes to your car, look in this box. that will tell you.

I know you do. Did the dash get changed?

I would have to agree with @ayilar when he asked whether the original dash (bezel) has been changed since while the aftermarket radio was installed with its own requisite bezel, the assumed original dash bezel has a cutout that could only be for an 8 track tape player and it is still visible. Given that we know it has the requisite number of total speakers, I would conclude that the original radio was an R37 one - which is an AM/FM stereo 8 track tape player.

One other thing I have also noted over time in looking at body code plates is that the R35 radios rarely had the R35 on those plates and was just skipped when it came to having it on that plate.

That would be great! @69CoronetRT i will try tomorrow to scan the sheet at work and upload a high resolution picture.
I would love if it had an 8track! But @Tobias74 seems to know the solution? Could you tell us please? There is no problem if the dash was changed, the mls are wrong or whatever. The car is runnig perfectly smooth here in germany with no transmission, enginge, cooling or further problems.
If the radio is the one Tobias postet it should be the "Golden Tone AM Radio". Well that would be the one that is pretty useless in Europe ;)...

@ayilar yes 5 Bucks ;). In further times it was enough to fill the car with gas i heard. Today its ~170 USD in germany...

It wasn't skipped.

I think what you are seeing is, like in the case, power antenna code R48 supersedes other R** codes that normally appear in this spot, like R35, on a '73 Jefferson plant tag. (coding protocols and code placement differ by plant and even time of year. Some codes DO bump other codes off the tag. Here's one instance of that happening)

That is why you will not see a radio unit code on a 73 Imperial tag. A power antenna, R48, was standard equipment with any of the optional radios so the antenna gets coded but the actual radio does not. To learn what radio came in the car, we need to see something else like the broadcast sheet, window sticker, invoice, etc.

Situations like this remind us the purpose of the tag is not as a place to list all options but a durable way to code BIW modifications/adaptations, drivetrain, paint and trim during the initial assembly process.

I Hope this Fotos are better?
I didn't saw the codes on the below left yesterday!
R48 power antenna, R32 rear speakers AND R22 the Radio!

Which would mean "R22 AM Radio with 8-Track".
But that's not what @Tobias74 shows us?

I definitely will not put an AM radio into the in Europe, so it has to be an 8tr/am-fm one.

My father is one the way to @Robchally in this moment to pick up several parts. But on the tag he posted is R13. Also an AM radio, without 8 track... should fit to what Tobias shows above but not to the Broadcastsheet and bezel.

I don't own any original Chrysler radio. So if iam going to buy one I would prefer an 8 track one because I love old music tapes, cassette, vinyl...

R22 it is then. I thought the dpot was empty on your build sheet, good thing @69CoronetRT insisted n seeing higher resolution pics.

To support me and my old cars (he is retired iam in a full time job, wife ,house ,children...) my 69 years old father drove 900km (556mls) to pick up these FINE parts! *Love*

I will clean, test an then build in this original radiator which locks PRETTY good! I don't like the aluminium one, even if it is better...
And with the help of all of you the radio.
