Hello, found this forum in my searches and have read some amazing threads thanks all.

I am hoping to learn what the specific name of the trim line on the interior doors is called - and if they are vital to sound proofing, sealing the cabin, or just aesthetics.

Mine are completely sun shot and down to thread and wire, I am pulling and cleaning what I can before getting into the resto project. This will not be a show car, or sold so I don't care if they go back in just curious if anyone has the name of this item, so i can do more research [tough finding what it is without knowing]

and many thanks if you have images of how you cleaned up any possible gaps, etc. on your projects.

Thanks in advance, I appreciate any help with the matter.

It's called windlace or windlacing.

Lots of places sell it, but you probably aren't going to find it specific to your car. Best bet is to ask for samples then match the sample as best you can (or want).

This is just one place : Cloth Windlace

Windlace is usually sold by the foot, not as a pre-cut length for particular vehicles. Measure the length and then add a few inches, for good measure. best to have a few inches left over than to need them to start with.

Awesome! Thanks again guys!
Looking forward to this project and digging up as much info as I can from this forum

Make sure you order windlace with what's known as a cardboard or wire "leg" so that your clips have someting to bite into.

Restoration Specialties and Supplies is where I get mine. They'll send samples if you request.

I think prefect fit has me with price and quanity of length ratio.

But i will certainly look into these other options. Thanks
I think i am going with newstalgiaparts on the headliner.
Anyone have experience with them?
