That's kool that you got to take her for a spin in that beautiful landscape. I think a name is something that you need to come up with as you get to know her.

I wouldn't use the term rust bucket if it were my car. I prefer more the term "survivor" than the previous. So it has a dent or two here and there, no big deal. Its a project and labor of love, you'll get to know the car better and every time you pass some 4banger modern iron you'll be glad you stuck it out. A 68' New Yorker is absolutely a cool car.

Man, that's some nice photo work.

help me choose a name for her!
I think a name is a personal thing that she'll need to earn.

A couple that come to mind though
Duplexe...... For the 4 (doors)
Skidroe...... (at least until shes upgraded a little)

OHhhh...OK... I'll bite. WTH is a "homer spit" anyways....?

Never had the urge to name a car in the first place despite people calling me slightly insane when it comes to my cars, after all they got named already by the manufacturer. :)

I love my project car. Everything up here seems to rust to pieces. I'm glad I got to it before the owner decided to scrap it. It was sitting outside in storage for 4 years. Thanks for the compliments on the pics. Actually took them with my phone. I'm sure a name will come with time, she will always be the new yorker when I speak of driving or working on it, but it's fun to have a name to reference online.

Ohh and the spit is Just a piece of land that acts as a peninsula into the water. One road in and out. Big enough at the end for a marina small enough in the middle to throw a rock from beach to beach.

There is a good wiki article with pics on the spit. by I can't seem to copy and paste it for some reason

Ditto here.....I rekon' I don't see my car the same way everyone else sees thiers.

Rough around the edges and leaks.....I would give her a stripper name.

I always heard your stripper name is your first pet and the road you grew up on. Mine is Fancy Rosedale.

Lottie Meadow ? Sounds pretty rural.
