Hood hinge ?

I read the FSM on torsion bar removal, but not computing to me, directions seem far too easy. Feels like a pretty good load on them, can someone walk me thru this 1. So I don 't loose any more teeth, and 2. Is it really worth it. It all works, just getting engine bay ready for paint, thanks, Kel.

I just took off mine. I didn't realize they were loaded as it was 11:30 at night and I wasn't paying attention. When we took the 2nd off I pushed the hinge in while my buddy held onto the torsion bar and backed it all the way down.

I use a ratcheting strap from the door handle to the torsion bar. Pull it just enough to release the hinge and slowly release the strap.
