How rare is my 67 Fury Fasttop?

I appreciate all of the knowledge.
Special ordered or not still leaves me wondering how many 440 HP L code Furys are out there. From what some of my Mopar friends tell me, it's Rare and honestly I love the Fury so it doesn't matter. Just glad I got This one!

And that is really all that matters ...

Yep. The 440 probably makes it rare enough special order or not.
I’d just it running well, polish her out and enjoy that beaut.

Nice looking fast top Fury. Being your car is still around and you are going keep it on the road that alone makes it rare. It's a 52 year old car. Have fun, that what it's all about.

You can rest assured that the car was "ordered", whether for a customer (i.e., "Sold Car") or for the dealer's stock. When a customer went to the dealership, not finding specifically what they wanted, then the dealer would "special order" the car, knowing that they'd sell it anyway, with no down payment. Or the order could be marked "Sold Car" for possibly more urgency in getting the car built, whether the car was sold or not. Lots of ways to look at it.

The "Standard Book of Chrysler" has production numbers for the models only. As my '67 Newport CE23 was about 25K, for the basic model, you can go from there. The fact that my car has the optional bucket seat interior (with the center cushion), and also is a 383 4bbl car, those two additional options would decrease the total production numbers for the particular car much lower, I suspect. That the body is Turbine Bronze with a white vinyl roof is another factor in a lower production number. But these things are pure speculation from what we saw back then. There might be some installation rate percentages for the model years, somewhere?

Your car looks good! I concur that getting it running/driving/performing well is the best way to do things. People will surely say "Don't see any of them anymore" when they see it at shows and such. To which you can smile and say 'I know. That's one reason I have it." One plus, no vinyl roof!

Might want to get a quality orbital buffer to ease the polish/wax operations!

Enjoy!

Nicely optioned with BOTH 440 (SuperCommando!) as well as disc brakes, neither of which were all that common for a Fury. The original Budd brakes have their headaches, but are worth their trouble in terms of stopping power. I grew up in a '67 Fury fastop, and still have a soft spot for them. If that is an original finish, especially if it is metallic; use TLC, and the gentle-est polishing method possible on it. Originally it probably came with the '67 disc brake wheel covers, or it may have even had Magnums, but that's another story...…...

'68 marker lights on a '67 is quite rare :poke:
Special or not who cares, it's an awesome car, enjoy it.

Hi nice car and it looks to be sitting pretty (stance). I got my first Fury in the fall of 1970, a ex State Police 1968 Fury I 2dr with a 440 6bbl in it replacing the original 383 4bbl HP motor.
Over the 70's & 80's I have owned many Furys and had in my possession 1 1968 Dodge Monaco (sorry guys) heh.
As far as rarity, back in those days the 383 was more popular as the baseline big block for 1967 with the 440 showing up more in the Fury line in 1968 and onward due to the reputation of the 1967 GTX.
Over the past several decades I have seen many 440's in the 67's mostly with a convertible top, auto trans many, and quite a few 4 speeds. Now if your car came from the factory with a 4 speed that would be rare as I have only seen 1 Fastop 440 4 speed and that was a 1968 minus the drivetrain.

Nice car, enjoy it, and hope it found a safe new home!

Thanks for all the feedback. I found this from where I decoded fender code and why I think my Fury is special, Special to me!
