How rare is this? 67 Fury 383 4 speed loaded

but only on 440 equipped 4-speed cars. The 383 cars just get an 8 3/4

Carsten

B's (from 1966 and on) and & E's with 440 4 speed's and all 426 Hemi's only came with a Dana 60. 440 automatic's in those cars came with 8.75 unless they were ordered with Scat Pack Axle option then they came with the Dana 60. No Dana 53 in a B or an E.

Hi Bob,

the 440 automatic cars could get a Dana 60 with 4,10 gears only with the super performance axle package (A32) in 1969&1970. It wasn't available before. The other option is a "performance axle package" (A36) but it is a 8.3/4 rearend with 3,55 gears.

What's a Dana 53?

Hi Carsten,

Ya, that's what I meant to say.

Dana 53 is a 9.25 axle that was used as stated by Stan in C-Body 4 speed cars only. It's a rare rear end used in old Willy's Jeep's. They are not the same 9.25 axles used in formal C-Body's.

If I had something with a Dana 53 and it ran OK and didn't have any problems....I would leave it alone. However, it had ANY problems I would be doing a few mods and installing a Dana 60 in it.

I was not able to call yesterday.

Hopefully I will get to on Monday.

the more I think about it, the more I want it, however, I think those guys put their "project cars" in a different section from where this one is. That's got me kinda depressed.

I'm in the middle of dealing with Maine-ly titles, the company that bought Broadway Limited.

it's been kind of a sore experience, since I paid extra not to involve the police, and last time I corresponded with them, I still had to find someone willing to run the VIN through the NCIC, which has been a royal pain in the butt since I don't know anyone in law enforcement besides an animal control officer and a corrections officer, and both of them are not allowed to access NCIC without a fully documented case, due to "abuse" of the system.

I sure would hate to ask a police officer I didn't know to run it, and then have them show up at my house with a roll back and a warrant.

There is a service bulletin that approves the use of a 9 3/4, (dana 60), axle in a 383 4 speed equipped 69 Road Runner.

No.913, November 4, 1968. "rear axle".

the Dana 60 was never installed on 383 cars from the factory.
This was just released for the case of warranty claims. Starting with the 1969 model year you get the 8 3/4 with the 3,91 gears (on 383-4bbl cars only, no c-bodies). This hi po axle package was used often for drag racing, so in case someone broke the 8 3/4 he could get the Dana as a replacement from the dealer.

That's what I said.......:poke:

your posting indicated to me that you mean the Dana 60 was installed on 383 cars from the factory when new but that wasn't the case.

Steering column, Tail lights and dash pad are a few of the '67 only pieces if you are thinking of parting it. Maybe save it if you can!
