Hubcaps restoration

Depends on the vinyl. Good 3M or equivalent will last. Look at all the wrapped commercial vans out there.

I used matt black 3M vinyl on my '70 300 rocker trim instead of painting and that was 10 years ago, and it still looks great.
Did your 300 not have the chrome trim?

Care to share what brand & colors you chose? They look great.
Thanks. Rustoleum enamel. Time will tell. Goes on smooth and seems to be durable.

I can't speak for @jmustian and what he used for hte R-W-B on his wheelcovers, but I used Testors small-bottle enamel on the quarterpanel emblems on my 300L and it didn't last long. I cannot say how long it lasted, but it needs done again.

He said he clearcoated on his, and that probably makes a huge difference.

I've used the Testor paint with pretty good results. I think the trick is to clean it with thinner or acetone. I did the red outline of the grille and that did need touch-up after a few years, but emblem on the trunk is still going strong after 10+ years.

@jmustian, care to share what brand & colors of model paint you used for the red, white and blue?
I don't know what he used, but the little square bottles of Testors enamel have a red and blue that are what I used. The red is a perfect match and the blue is close enough. I don't have a good picture to show and can't get at the car well enough to snap a pic.

The blue I used is "bright blue" #1110TT, red #1103TT and white #1145TT. Don't go by the colors on this chart as they can appear different due to color settings on your screen. As I said, their blue is "close enough" but pour a little out in a cup and mix just a few drops of dark blue and I think you can match it perfectly. ENAMEL-PAINT-BOTTLES
