good point, yeah, that's my concern how many more will come up? could be I missed my big chance (?)
Time for a refresh. Why are you looking again? Don't you own the one in your avatar? Just asking, because I don't remember.

Sorry, I know I've been all over the place. Yep, got a bronze one, pretty solid, Gary has seen it. Like it, but would really like an original '69 red with white interior. As i mentioned, perhaps I should have grabbed the one at auction, but a few things about I didn't like (but I'm probably not at liberty to be picky) not a great paint job, Viper red color, a repaired frame rail (just one of my hangups, Gary said not a big deal) and also the trunk had just been filled with body deadener or something like that (See Gary's description) So, you can say if i passed up my big chance, but I chose not to go for this one. in the meantime I'm hoping to take care of the minor things left on the bronze car and hope there are no more "major" things to do, and probably sell it if I can find more what I'm looking for (red/white interior) (also would love an original TNT too) See earlier post regarding the one in Canada that's been for sale a while. Thanks, I hope that clears it up.

Thanks, yes I get it now. We have seen a lot of red/white 300 verts pass through here, you know what you want, keep looking. That one in Canada would need a new interior since they were never made with red inserts. Does it have to be a '69? '70's are nice too.
:)

think you were well to pass on it..interior woulda had to been redone..realy looked mickey mouse ..the mention of the coatings in the trunk woulda had me under the car for the next half hr to see what else their tryin to hide....

Another few factoids found.

“The color is actually Viper Red, perhaps a few shades brighter than the factory Crimson, but once you see this car in person, I don’t think anyone will complain. The white accent stripes that gracefully trace the arc of the fuselage styling along the sides were actually painted on, then buried under the clear, so they’ll look crisp virtually forever.” To me this is a minus, I’d prefer closer to factory, like the one that got away from me in Las Vegas.

“The floors and chassis are in very good original condition, having been undercoated from new and spending four decades in Texas, and while it’s not detailed for show, there’s absolutely nothing underneath that should cause a new owner any concerns.” Again, even with undercoating, guess the one frame rail got some rust (?)

i wonder where it spent the first 7 years of it's life? undercoating and rust don't seem likely in texas.

Ya know. . . The TNT engine ain't all that different than the engine you have. Throw a MOPAR purple cam in your engine and top it off with an AFB carburetor, and VIOLA! there ya go. I think the compression is the same, but I'm not sure. In any event, if its a little lower, that won't hurt at all with today's shitty gas.

Btw, I really like the colors on your car.

hi, there, well thanks for the compliment, I actually like them too. I think the seats are aftermarket though, don't you?

as far as the TNT, i know it's only a few more horsepower, but in terms of options, I'd prefer that on even over power stuff and A/C since I assume it's pretty rare, just for the sake oh having an "original" TNT..thanks again

Rust. Procede with caution.
ATC. Look at with great suspicion.
Rust + ATC. Run, Forest. Run.
ATC? Automatic Temp Control? My Dad's '71 300 had that and the only problem with it was the unit under the hood that would crack any time the car overheated. I recall it was not a cheap part at the time either - I want to say almost $200. The other problem was the small hose in front of the water pump on the passenger side. Whenever a spirited teenager would drive the car, this hose had a propensity for splitting.

O.K. at age 55 I look at cars this way: go for the one in better shape vs "its not my favorite color" why? if someone has alot of money then you can always have it repainted to an more desirable color. Extensive metal work will cost you more than paint alone. But then if you had alot of money then you should of purchased the one at the auction for a couple of grand more. One of my cars has only 9k original miles but is not a flashy color. Most of the time you can find cars with a more desirable color but not in better shape. Plus one big advantage to your Bronze car is: "You know what you have already", no unwanted surprises as you are a expert with your own car.

the bronze car is a NICE car. no a/c, but a bird in the hand. what are the chances of finding a 1969 red over white hp 440 loaded 100 pt survivor car. maybe. God so help ya', if you do, buy it! 'cause if you do, it's probably the last.

thanks for your feedback, guys and I get what you are saying. I like the bronze car too, but just a color preference I guess. And, though, maybe impossible, I'd like to find the red/white car (HP or not). also, due to my "quirks" I prefer a car with the color it came with from the factory (unless it's super cheap) again, just a preference. And the quirks at the auction were the repaired frame rail, the not so great paint job and the Viper Red color vs. real Crimson. I know I'm picky but it was approaching 15k and I never even bid, so it "could" have kept rising. So, hopefully the prices won't rise too fast to prevent me from getting something better for similar money, but I know that may not be possible. Anyway, wished I had gotten into C bodies a few years earlier and I would have had it made, but such is life.....thanks again, guys

Looks like you and Gary had a good time, Dale. Sorry I couldn't go along. Spent the morning at my daughter's preschool for International Day, something that still baffles me for 2-4 yr old kids.

I'll echo what Stan and others have said - don't beat yourself up over not grabbing it. If you had reservations, you did the right thing. I looked around before settling on the 300 I bought and though it'll be a nice car, several others popped up right after I bought it that were more to my liking and closer. I also had reservations, but convinced myself I might not get another chance for a while.

Would be good to get the NC crew together sometime this summer. The weather the last few days really has me chomping at the bit to work on the car.

hey there, thanks for the comments. I appreciate it. And sorry you couldn't make it. And yes, getting together sounds great !! Hopefully the bronze machine may be up to it once the leaks are fixed, etc.
