I love it when kids just speak their thoughts when you ask them. My cousin's 3 year son went to see his newborn cousin. When he was asked later of what he thought of his new cousin, he simply said "I didn't like it I didn't pet it."

I agree with "It" being the correct term until they are at least one year old. From someone who doesn't have kids yet. lol
