True story - My brother-in-law was a long-time Chrysler employee, working as parts and service managers, and the Denver parts depot, for over 40 years. He recalls a guy with a '70 Challenger T/A that came in with a rod knock. When the 340 was pulled from the car for a teardown to sort out the noise, they did find two bad rod bearings...and a wrench in the oil pan, from where the engine was built in 1970! The wrench was not the cause of the problem, but my B-I-L said that was the hot topic of discussion in the shop for a very long time!
