I just took the plunge

Here's the fitting that's not fitting on the transmission line nipple...

WAIT!!
You mean to tell me thwy sent you a radiator with hose nipple ends for the tranny cooling lines???

I'd send it back and ask for my money back.
I am NOT joking!
Tranny cooling lines have to be hard plumbed. No exceptions!
I don't give a crap how other people say "but it's a low pressure line..."
18 year old Chevy kids would fall for that line. It's a ghetto repair.

Relax. First there's no reason to send anything back. I've never had ANY radiator in ANY car (Chrysler stock or no) that had the transmission fluid lines "hard plumbed" (i,e. welded?) into the the bottom of the tank. They all had nipple adapters on each side of the tank (maybe "nipple" is the wrong term, but can't think of anything that better describes this connector). Its exactly like this, except the Chrysler one screws out of the bottom of the tank.

This picture is showing my adapter fitting screwed on to the nipple. I think the fluid is getting past the threads and dripping. Hence I'm wondering if the threads are standard, because the same fitting sat tight and dry on the stock radiator. I did not check because of the welds, but perhaps they do screw out. Gotta check that.

Interesting perspective, I would never use a rubber line and hose clamps either but that is me just being anal...

Wasn't talking about the fittings, Gary. Yes, all the fittings thread into the tank.
I'm talking about using nipple hose ends fitting, hose, and clamps.
Which you can already see is a leak waiting to happen.

Indeed it is. That hose goes back and terminates on the intake of a 4 row trans cooler nestled behind the grill....a little more protection.

I've never had any leaks using pressure rated hose (which is proper) or good clamps. It all works exactly the way it should with minimal fuss. I'm loving it. Except for this thread issue, but I got some ideas.
