I pulled the trigger on 2019 Scat Pack Charger

:poke:It's about style. Three pedals has style, and apparently intimidation factor. Automatics are what the librarian or accountant drove.:poke:

Not in LA traffic brother!!! 3 hours at 5mph to my brothers house almost killed me. I love stick cars but I’ll never own another until I successfully flee Kalifornia. And you’re so right NOTHING cooler than a pistol grip.

I agree Bob...It's always been that way I have some old motor trend mags laying around. Seems like 99.9 percent of the road test they did, the drivers always got the best results with the automatics.

All I gotta say is you better have BOTH hands on the wheel when you light up 800 horsepower. You can't do that with a stick. . .

Pffffft. I have 500hp and 1800ftlbs, I have to shift anywhere from 14- 9 times, I don't use the clutch pedal except to launch and I can post here while doing it.:icon_fU:
Amateurs.

I'm researching deeply on how to get into a new passenger sedan with a stick.
There are only two choices left, a top level Mazda3 (try not to gag thank you) which is a compact and a mid-sized Accord (less distasteful but still no).
(...)
So that leaves me with a Charger Scat Pack just like Bob's....

Where will you be driving the car? I drove both the Accord 2.0 Sport MT and a Challenger Scat Pack MT last week (the Charger does not come with a stick). For small roads and part city driving, and in fact as an all rounder, the Accord is simply fantastic. For wide country roads and highways, the Challenger is great — as long as the drive is not too long. Otherwise, it’s IMHO too noisy. The Charger Hellcat in which I also drove felt much quieter.

Before you give up on sticks, do yourself the favor of driving a fully loaded VW Golf GTI. I bought a new 2018 Autobahn for 20% off last October. I love it as a DD, and it has a 6-year warranty.

Stan,

A 10 ten second WOT test run in a Charger Scat Pack from a dead stop will make it easy for you decide.....

I like that argument Bob. There really isn't a reply that can be said to refute it.

People that are serious about getting a fast car should test drive a Scat Pack or a 1320 and decide for themselves. It sure made my mind up in 10 seconds. I scared the crap out of the 22 year old salesman. He said it was the fastest car he was ever in. I said great....let's take the Redeye out for a test drive. I was just joking with him about the Redeye. I wanted the Charger all along.

We test drove the 1320 by happenstance . Looking at the 392s and that is what we went out In, the 1320.
Salesman said she's been up to 78 mph. I chuckled and replied she'll (Diane) have that beat going out of the driveway.

She did manage to take it to a hundred on the two lane county road where from a rolling 15 mph she nailed it and went sideways. 2nd and 3rd found the slicks struggling to do their job.

I'm waiting to see the new color. I am also waiting to see if the do a 50 year challenger anniversary car .

Where will you be driving the car?
To doctors appointments and to Walmart.
I don't have the opportunity to use performance anymore.
Driving is absolutely pathetic down here. A real killjoy.
Poor as hell here so the towns and counties use red light cameras and shooting-fish-in-a-barrel speedtrap approaches as a cash cow.
Can't get to point A to point B without a traffic light every 1/2 mile.
Where there are open roads, they nail you at 61 in a ridiculously low 55 mph speed limit.
3/4's of the drivers are over 90 years old who pull out into oncoming traffic with impunity.
Loaded 80,000 lb. tractor trailers are three abreast at stop lights and on the road.
And there lies my frustration.

When did you move to Jersey?

When did you move to Jersey?
So what do you need a 6.4 for???
Let me know what Idaho is like when you get there.

Sidenote:
Florida Highway Patrol just bought these...

I've had my Scat Pack for 3 months now. I have 4000 miles on it so far. Besides the trip to Carlisle I haven't been farther than Baltimore with it. My local dragstrip is 20 minutes away if I want to go fast.

11 seconds isn't enough time
