Thanks guys, car photographs incredibly well, leather is not in perfect condition, but still good considering. Minor bodywork imperfections along with bumper chrome needs doing. Rubber round window to roof seal perished.

Was a great spot to take pics before folk were hanging around. I can't go anywhere without folk waving or asking about it, guess you guys know all about that, but new to me.

If I had walked into a Caddy dealership back then (except I was only 6 and my Dad bought Buicks) I bet I would have seen photos like that in their sales brochures. Beautiful car, beautiful settings. Congrats!

Nice Caddy! I've wanted a '65 or 6 ragtop since I was 16 and drove my Dad's Bosses' car. Red with a white interior. Don't know what model it was, but I'll never forget that drive I made, with my Sister next to me, from Elk Grove Park (outside Sacramento) to downtown Sac and back again. Top down!! Man I loved that!!!

As per the headline, I tried and failed several times so when this came up for sale I could not resist.

Only 2600 of both the Park Avenue and the Town Sedan were made in 1962, no figures available for ratio. These were a shorter car than the Deville by around a foot, this is still 215 inches. This Park Ave is a one Pennsylvania owner 38.5k mile car. The interior is almost like new with all extras available taken by the original owner, bar Cruise Control. The original invoice says he bought rear defrost package too, but can find no evidence of it ! Odd... Electric windows, inc vents ! Electric Seats, semi bucket option in leather, AC, power trunk and Soft Ray Tinted glass, Power locks and the Autronic Eye headlight dipping thing. Here in 62 I think you could order a heater and carpets Ha ha !

I have the sales invoice, instruction booklet and service book, might be called protecto plate? Has a little tag with engine number on door frame. Seems to have been stored off a dirt track road from the amount of stones and dirt I removed from the bottom of the bumpers. Was undercoated from new and its held up well. Rubber perished in quite a few places, bumpers need rechromed, but for 57 years old not too shabby ! Had a little paint here and there, but not all over. Engine bay grubby, but should look better when degreased. Original spare tyre still in trunk but damaged sidewall, no idea why they kept it and will be replaced by a non WW to save some cash.

I've got the shop manual on the way with some consumable items from Rock Auto, delivery and taxes for that was $130 with parts cost $90, so an expensive maintainance bill ! Its taking forever to get the new registration plates to allow me to drive it on the road here, very frustrating, but must be patient ! maybe in around 3 or 4 weeks.

Posting this up as had a few requests to keep in touch and post some pics.

Would still like an Imperial, but no room for 2 cars at the moment.

Been getting lots of help and advice on the Caddy forum where folk are as nice as they are on this one ! Was not easy getting this here, lots of hurdles, but think its worth it now.

Anyone who can offer advice and help with running it would be much appreciated.

Thank you again for the kind comments guys, made a few discoveries yesterday. Seems the AM Radio still works along with the electric aerial ! fades between front and rear speakers too. The Electric seat started moving forwards and backwards, but not tilting or rising. Needs all the old grease removing I'm told. I did manage to get the drivers side power vent moving, though does not close tight and needs a wee push to get going. All the others work fine.

A couple of interior pics, the headliner looks as new as it did when installed. Some fading to paint on dash, noticeable when the ashtray opened( never used) but still amazing nick for a 57 year old.

Had a wee 35 mile trip at the weekend, 60mph on motorway for about 25 of it, no issues whatsoever. Lots of thumbs up and flashes from other drivers. Still needs some regular driving to lossen her up then the front end joints replacing.

Saw another 62 sedan deville same colour, but no leather, today with the tinted windscreen(called soft ray), never seen it before, and 23k miles.

So due to change in plans the Cadillac was sold today ! quite a surprise given the turmoil the world is in. Hoping to buy an Imperial to replace her and have an iron in the fire as I write this. Exhange rate has dropped big time which might put the purchase on hold, plus trying to arrange uplifts and deliveries of cars will I expect be very difficult.

I'll report back if I get hold of one in the future, short or long term.

That's the issue really, plus the exchange rate is very poor. Car purchasing not top priority for anyone but my buyer it seems. Guess if you have something which somebody wants, nothing puts them off....
