I want to buy this 1970 purple Fury convertible

Is this the original Hurst promo convert ? I don't recognize it without the skirts (of Linda). ;)

I'm kind of surprised people don't like the wheels. I thought the wheels would get a "pass". As for the paint color, I could take it or leave it.

I did think about having my pipes exit out the sides, seeing as I'm not going for a totally restored look anyway. I wasn't really thinking AAR as much as NASCAR, circa 1964. I have a pic of a couple of NASCAR stockers, a Galaxie and a Maruader, with their pipes exiting at the side. I like the look on them. After some thought, I decided to have my pipes exit behind the bumper with tips.

The pipes on my truck exit at the sides, with stainless steel tips, because that's where I wanted them. :)

As a European first Thing that Comes to mind with a side exhaust is this rig, especially as this was our first new car. The left rear wheel was always smoked black from exhaust gases:

AAR NASCAR etc. comes second.

i love the wheels and tires

The wheels give it a don't f... with me look. I can't do purple on any c body. I wouldn't want the side exhaust in a vert.

I like the car. Yes, there were no GT or Sport Fury convertibles in 1970, so it's a clone. Yes, I wouldn't pick purple/plum crazy. However, The car has a great stance and a great look with the steelie wheels. The engine compartment is nicely detailed. I don't have the heater hoses/AC hoses hooked up on my 70 vert either. Exhaust can be easily fixed. Interior looks superb. Overall, he did a nice job making just what he wanted.

And that's what it's all about.... what each of us want with our car. I don't see it over the top or outrageous just nicely done
