intake manifold for 318

The Poly 318's heritage began with "single rocker shaft" cyl heads on the 1950s "double rocker shaft" cyl heads on the 1950s Hemi V-8s. Same basic block, different cyl heads for the lower-priced models. The LA318's heritage includes the Poly 318 block, which is why the bellhousing patterns also go back to the early Hemi engines. Maybe the timing chain sets, too?

You might head into Google and look for the various Engine Masters Challenge dyno shootouts. Some Poly blocks have appeared in those challenges, over the years. Many with modern intakes adapted to the Poly-head intake bolt pattern. On an engine dyno, NO issues with hood clearance of the assembled intake/carb system/air cleaner, so make some allowances for that.

Otherwise, used Poly 318 intakes show up every so often. Note that you'll need a dual-patter baseplate on the carb, which can mean Edelbrock or Carter AVS2 or AFB carbs. THEN the issues of getting the throttle linkage hooked up to them.
