So my 4 year old Craftsman gas-operated push mower quit working yesterday in the middle of doing my front yard. So today, 5/16/15, I take it over to my local Sears to drop it off to be repaired, assuming it won't cost me over $120. The guy working the counter tells me Sears will not take in to be 'looked at' unless it's A) under warranty, which mine is no longer or B) if it's under a service plan, which mine isn't either. So basically Sears won't repair my 4 year old Craftsman mower. The times they are a changing!

And who's to blame?
You.
Me.
All of us.

I stood my ground on this all my life only to to trampled by a stampede of people looking to buy as many things as possible with the least amt. of money.
So, companies like Sears, DeWalt, Whirlpool, resort to selling crap to stay in business.

Thank you Walmart for Effing this country over for good.

Everybody says, Buy American.
Just like everybody says I didn't vote for Obama.
Yet Obama is in there. So WhoTF voted for him.
Somebody's lying on both issues.

Like I said before, if you want the real deal, you need to shop at a dealer and NOT a damn big-box discount "I-wanna-spend-nothing-for-something" store.

I'm more disappointed that Sears won't repair their own product than the fact that it pooped out after 4 years. Could be something very minor, but Sears won't be finding out as I dropped my mower off at a local mower repair shop. They were happy to look at it.

Sears is bleeding money like a stuck pig. Buying K-mart made it even worse.
They've lost their way.
Go into Sears a/o K-mart during a weekday. It's a ghost town in there.

That's why I now go there, no crowds. I stay away from wal mart like the plague.

Glenn, Glad to hear you took your mower to a local shop!

It actually looked 'ghostly' this morning in the lawn & outdoor department where I first went. Couple of people looking at gas grills. One guy checking out ahead of me and the lady at the register. Went to the 'drop-off' counter to see about leaving the mower and there was one guy there who did help me as much as he could. No one else in there though. Mere shadow of its former self. Sad.

lol very well said Stan I like your rants.

There was a Sears hardware near me. It was real handy, half way home. It was stocked with tools and everyone was really friendly. There was always a lot of customers, but it was closed.

Have to say I reluctantly go to Walmart for one thing. Oil. Was in Auto Zone today and there wasn't any 5qt. jug of dino oil under $22. Exact same oil at Walmart runs between $14-16. When you buy for eight cars it adds up. Luckily the oil isn't made in China.
