Just a little trip to the Custard stand

Heath bar blizzard with vanilla soft serve. Dairy Queen works for these but we also have a couple of soft serve joints out on Woodward Ave that do them just as good.

My Mother owned a Dairy Queen for 24 years back in the 50's, 60's & into the 70's. I grew up in it. It was one of the walk up kind, no food served except hot dogs. (We still have the rotisserie hot dog machine), and I have the Hamilton Beach Malt dispenser from it. Great memories. I'd get out of school and go right to the Dairy Queen to work.
There is probably no combination of ice cream treat that I haven't tried. To this day my favorite is a "extra thin, hot fudge milk shake". The blizzard's are hard to beat but we never had those back then.

Must have been a great job to meet girls. ..

It was......... Mom would hire girls from the neighborhood and I would have to train them.

My favorite thing to do was to tell them they had to take a milk crate and wash rag out to the corner and wash the stop sign.

A few places in Wisconsin come to mind now, but there are more. In Milwaukee, you have to stop at Leons. If you happen to find yourself in Oconomowoc, check out the Kiltie, they have car hops in plaid mini-skirts that give Hooters a run for their money.

If you get lost in the woods and end up in Wautoma, wheel in to Milty-Wiltys. All of these places have been in business a loooong time!

yeah, seriously. I did nothing. Had my wallet out card in hand. The guy looked at me and said forget about it. Free is the best price, so I rolled with it. The watched me pull out and drive off into the sunset.

They must know something you don't........ :poke:

They were so impressed with the new leaf springs and shackles that they did it out of respect.
