Just drive

Sometimes it's good to just get out and drive. Weather here is perfect. Blue skies, slight breeze, 80 degrees in the shade. I decided to forgo all the "what I'm supposed to do today" and go for a ride. Top down, hair in a ponytail sticking out of the back of my denim "Cancer Sucks" cap. Sunglasses- check, full tank of gas-check, cigs-check. Prayed before leaving-check. Today my ride was priceless. Don't be a hater of my little car unless you are willing to give me something different. It is what it is and it was beautiful!

I have a preference for first generation Miatas, but no hate for any of them. I used to autocross a 1990. It was my mother's car. I bought a spare set of wheels for it, and put on Kumho gumball tires. I upgraded the suspension to the max allowable within the "Stock" rules for the SCCA, which was not much. She used it as her daily driver on her 4-mile commute, and racked up 60,000 miles in 11 years. I'd take it, swap the wheels, and drive it down to Qualcomm Stadium's parking lot once a month and race it.

Great car. One of the best cars ever built.

She replaced it with an M Roadster, the BMW Z3 with the M3 engine in it. Fast. Really fast. But not as fun to drive as a Miata.

Don't know it sounded. Had the stock Bose radio cranked to rock n roll and the wind blowing through my hair
