Just over it!

This time of year carries us Krauts away a bit. :D

Popping the top off that carb would be easy enough,
Does the gas tank being full help the problem?

In the past I've blown a small amount of compressed air backwards through the fuel line, to listen to the gas tank through the opened gas cap.
. If the pickup is rusted out above the fuel level, you can hear air escape, and if the sock is plugged it may help unplug it, or just blow it off.
Hopefully you can clean out readjust the floats/ needle valve and call it good.
Oh... and easy on the swears.

Haha, yeah I plan on at least pulling the top and cleaning the float take out the jets or possibly taking it and just soaking it.

On edelbrocks it is usually fuel being sloshed into the engine when turning. You can try lowering the float level a tad. I had that problem where in a curve, fuel would be pushed out of the venturi booster and it would sputter and stall the engine while turning. (The carb works on the idle and transfere slot up to about 2000 or 2500 rpm.)

Yeah got plans to check it out tomorrow would you say 7/16 for the floats or lower

Well I also ran that marvel mystery oil through it and being an oil makes me wonder if it may have gummed it up

Do the floats seem high, or open too much?

7/16? Also, check your fuel pressure, you cant have more than 4psi if i remember correctly, that might flood it too.

Hard to tell by the pic, but those floats look like they are set too low.

So I adjusted them closed like this with a 7/16 drill bit. So in open I pushed in the tab in the back so it hangs at 1 inch.
