Kidney Stone

I have had this too many times

had the lipotripsy done 2x now

it’s going to be a few weeks before you feel totally better
Wishing you all the best in recovery
Question mr. fix it. Your lithotripsy take place in a table or in a big S.S water tank with you sitting in a S.S. "lawn chair" in that tank strapped in so you cant move while they spank the water for the better part of an hour. With that procedure the urologist used to slide a 20" long plastic tube 'bout 20% the size of a #2 pencil with holes in its entire length from the end of your Willie thru your bladder then up the next tube to where that tube joins your kidney and they leave that plastic tube in there for a week to ten days and it's there so IF your plumbing swells up your kidney will continue passing water to your bladder and on out. I'll describe the procedure in removing that tube in the next installment. AW WTH, Ah couple inches of heavy black thread are attached to the end of the tube that's hanging out of you so that your Urologist has something to lace his index finger thru' and tells you to take a deep breath and exhale. The next move iz for you to picture all your plumbing down there as a chain saw and the Doctor iz getting ready to start you. Think that won't blow the wax out of your earz? And trust me guyz, I can not make this stuff up. I waz in that tank 5 times starting about 1980 and had that wax removal treatment 5 times too and once on the table where the medical profession had improved the procedure to a point that they weren't using the plastic tube anymore so no more chain saw treatment, Jer

When I had my first Kidney Stone, the Doctor ripped the stent out of me the same way. Like he was starting a 40 horse Johnson. When I looked down, I expected to see something smoking. Saw stars for minutes after that, then stumbled around the office parking lot in a daze for like 30 minutes, waiting for my wife to pick me up. Trying to comprehend what happened.

With subsequent Doctors and stones, I told them what happened the first time, and they looked at me like I was making the whole thing up. Like it wasn't possible. I told one doctor "You know what, I'm going to take this thing out, and you can watch". I pulled it out, 1/2" at a time, and it was fine. I wasn't going to be scarred for life.........twice.

Kidney stones are bad enough. The Stents afterward are even worse. They have to come out after a certain amount of days, otherwise they can "grow roots". Ouch.

Good question Jer.

First 2 times was on a table laying into an inch or so of water sedated pretty heavily.

Last ones have been the drill & grab tool up the tube fora blast/drill & grab being totally out for this so I don't recall any chain saw sounds.

First one didn't have a stent which was near the death of me after the procedure cause there was no stent. To this day I have no idea why the surgeon didn't use one. It was an insult to the week before suffering I endured in the hospital hoping to pass the stone.

the last ones(2) have had stents used which are the strangest feeling being a bit uncomfortable but certainly worth not having the pain associated with trying to wee for the few days after surgery.

And what's with the doctor not knowing how to count from 3??? they always yank on the 2 count when it's time to remove it!:wtf::lol:

You guys are starting to scare me.

Sorry... The only thing that will help take you mind off it is if you happen to get a good looking (female)nurse.
But keep in mind the condition you're in since you can't do anything about the distraction!

So... We did step two and they went in after it today. Once they were in, they blew the stone away with a laser.

It went well, although it did hurt a bit when I woke up.

I'm glad to hear that you found resolution for the problem finally.

Sorry to hear about this. Pass it and heal quickly.

Worst pain ever... mine felt like a repeated kick in the nuts. After two days of suffering went to the Acupuncture Doctor and walked out pain free. Dont ask me how but it works. Pee'd the stone out couple days later.

Since I started this thread....

I still have some stones, not as big and mostly in the lower lobes where (I'm told) they won't pass. If they get too big, they'll go in through my back to break them up. I just saw the urologist last month and he's OKK with leaving them for now.

I went through the same thing. Ironically my results were very similarly to yours. Only then did they diagnose how bad my kidney was. I had 2/3rds of it removed. Now I'm 6yrs post-surgery and no reoccurrences.

I have had kidney stones in the past, 4 or 5 total over the years. The first one was 24 years ago, my baby boy was just a baby. It was the worst, urge to piss all the time, hard time going pee, constant throbbing pain in my back/kidney. It took a week to pass, painkillers helped. The second one was a few years later, I knew the drill, went to the hospital, an iv, painkiller, something for nausea, they confirmed the stone, sent me home with more painkillers, and I passed it 3 hours later. I drink a lot more water now than I used and more coffee. Any stones I have had since, If felt a throbbing in my kidney and either went back to bed or waited until the throbbing quit if I was at work, and pissed out a stone later. Like others have said, it was some of the worst pain I have ever felt

today is the 1st day since thursday i had felt good. no pain except for what feels like some pulled muscles. 2am this morning was different story my rh side was hurting so bad. the ibuprofen i took around 11pm did nothing so at 2 i took another oxicodone/something else 5-325. only took 1 of these a day they took the pain away but did not like how i felt after. maybe it desolved enough to were it passed and i did not feel it. i hope but i think it is still in there. as of now just keeping my fingers crossed.
