Let's see them Imps

Silver is pretty insane-looking, isn't it? Love that!

Niiiice cars gents. I am in the market for 69-70 imperial. Preferably daily driver.
Been driving my '71 as a Daily ripping around Napa / Sonoma / Marin County and yesterday in San Francisco; of all my E & B Bodies the FUSE Imperial is TRUE LUXURY

I see absolutely no reason to have let that one go.

I see absolutely no reason to have let that one go.

major problem:
It was FQ5 (turquoise) originally with a V1W white v-roof.
It got painted a non-original, non-mopar blue metallic in the US
With open doors it looked like in the pics as if the door jambs might have still been fq5 original as well as the engine bay and trunk.

So it was bought with the plan to respray "just" the outside back to FQ5 turquoise.

But the pics did not tell the truth. Everything was repainted. Just in different shades of blue.

So to turn it back into original it would have been neccessary to really completely disassemble it, strip it and respray it. Everywhere.

Someone had paid a lot of money to have it painted on the outside. It was straight as an arrow, very shiny and glossy.

So I was sitting there with a dilemma. I had a show winning glossy Imperial Coupe in blue. Oklahoma rustfree, excellent chrome, perfect trim and most people loved it. But it was FQ5 turquoise from the factory. I tried to live with it for 2 years but couldn't.
Everytime I saw it I wanted to start a repaint.

I completely understand your dilemma, A nice problem to have but a problem none the less

@Matt: yes he is a professional photograph. But these pics were not done professionally as we just wanted to go for a ride and he took the pics while I pulled it out of its garage. Just came across these.

@Patrick: Most often I ran across Jake from the Lola car club (blue liscense plates with yellow writing) as he drove to a lot to meetings, too before he moved to the US.
