Yes I keep Harbor Freight in buisness. Hiding behind the tool boxes are a couple spare 273's and a 904 transmission.

There are several middle of the road tool boxes I'd use. I prefer northern tool over harbor freight all day, and twice on Sunday. It's a personal preference from many poor harbor freight tools..... They've left a bad taste in my moufth.

My experience with Harbor Freight has been hit or miss. Some of the stuff is ok. Some of the stuff is bad. I got a 3500 watt gen I use about 3/4 hours a day & have owned for over two years. I paid $240.00. Hard to beat that. Other stuff only lasted a few days.

Well said some stuff there is great but u Gotta know what to look for.

Horrible Freight is good for some things, especially stuff that you'll only use maybe once in a lifetime or hobbyists. But to see "Professional" mechanics buying what is mostly junk and using it day after day to earn a living, doesn't really say much for how seriously or proud they are of there profession. There are some exceptions, like new guys at starting out, but to see some older guys who've been around the block use it to make a living, really makes you wonder.

Just picked a few of these up while in NY.

ok, so here's my tool box.

It's a MasterCraft setup bought on Black Friday so I saved almost 60% off the sticker price at the time.

Pretty good amount of storage room for what it is.

It's not a MAC or Snap On box but I didn't have to mortgage the house to get it either :D

Cool thread.
I've had my primary "MAC" box since the early 90's. I bought it used from a MAC tool dealer and used a "Snap On" box as a trade.
I liked it for the individual chrome pull handles instead of the traditional extruded handle. I took it to the paint shop right away and painted it Plum crazy purple. This was a time when tool boxes were all red. The MAC man liked so much he had some new boxes painted and sold them right away.

Also have this three drawer Snap On I use for a convenience box, misc basic tools and supplies.

And of course ..... the junk yard/road trip box.

Bottom and top boxes circa 1980 bought used at Storage Unit auction.

Finally, two dentists dentures storage cabinets on the right for $150 from a Foreclosure and a file cabinet stolen from Boston University from the early nineties.
