the steering column lock pin is frozen in the assembly. Doesnt seem to affect the rest of the steering mechanism.

I dont care if it locks the wheel once the key is removed. Will this cause a problem?

As long as it stays where it is, no problem. IF it should free-up while driving and deploy, THEN you can't steer the vehicle.

Best to pull things apart and either remove the plunger and alignment spring OR fix it so it works as designed. Your judgment call.

OR . . . remove the lock plate itself so that should it ever free-up, nothing for it to lock against, hopefully. Not sure if there might be something on the backside of the steering wheel it could index with, though.

In the long run, best to just fix it and be done with it.

Just some thoughts,
