Old Man with a Hat
Found in Nebraska, clearing out cars and parts his dad collected over the years, I had a full pickup
I'm personally a sucker for 4 speed convertibles, I guess because you have two obvious "rare" traits in one car. But, it's true, you gotta "have fun" while cruising....hope the car can be saved if possible.
It's work when it's 10, 13, 15, 18 day after day. In a car that it is not supposed to be in, it is therapy that melts problems away. But, it's true, you gotta "work" while cruising
Whatever you do, do not use this one as a parts car.Found in Nebraska, clearing out cars and parts his dad collected over the years, I had a full pickup

Start looking for '67 Fury parts and check out the prices and you will get a whole new perspective on restoring this car. Yes, doors, hoods and fenders can be found but try and find quarter panels, tail lamps and some of the Sport Fury specific emblems. Very difficult. Find really good '67 Fury tail lamps is getting to be almost as hard as finding them for a '66 300.
And then that Chinese repop crap comes back and bites you in the ***.To put that in prospective, try locating those very same componants for a 1961 Plymouth Fury. 67 stuff falls out of the sky in comparison. I would welcome the job of restoring this car. But, I have my hands full with my current project. Stash this Fury in the corner, cover it up and start collecting the tuff stuff. A couple of years will turn up everything needed, then tear into it. I'd be proud to own a car like this.
Some just get caught up in the "1-800, WWW Chinese repop", instant gradification . syndrome.
because it's the ONLY one at the car show and draws more looks and comments than the 1000 road runners and A bodies that are there!I'll never get the fascination with C body manual transmission cars, especially convertibles. There is a reason so few were made. Why would I want to "work" at cruising on a sunny day? After 7 years of working on my vert, I see stuff like that Fury and cringe, never again, and mine had solid floors. The '66 300 has a lot of potential, the Flintstone Mobile, not so much, but to each his own, I guess.
I must confess, I feel the same way about driving now that I'm older. I'm after effortless cruising now. The idea of rowing through the gears in traffic now makes me cringe. I'd only consider a stick now in a truck and even then I'd have to think hard about it.I'll never get the fascination with C body manual transmission cars, especially convertibles.
