I dont see you in a Forwardlook car Mark. If you weren't happy with an N code with buckets because there was no console then a wagon sedan won't make you happy.

I appreciate your honesty Dave...…..but I am still looking into it. He has not responded in a while so it may be gone already.

I asked once why he sold all his Polaras and you told me. "It's in his head, not his heart" I always remembered those words. Anytime i see that in the Classic Car hobby, i think of what you said.

Maybe those little fins will make him happy.:)

I dunno, Mark. That's a 180° U-turn for what my impression of what you have been looking at in the past. You sure?

It seems to me that mark is a guy with ecliptic tastes in cars. Not so brand loyal as a lot of folks. Pontiacs, AMC's, Mopars of all sorts and other makes/brands are always on his radar. He does seem to like a straight shift though, which this wagon likely is not. The push buttons should compensate for that.

I can relate as I have a passion for Mustangs, some early Fords, Pontiac's, Buick's and most orphan cars myself.

Hope something good happens for you Mark.

I have wanted a finned car since I was in my 20's Stan. Could never afford one. Saw a 70 Polara one day and fell in love with the nose and body lines. Started to look for one but it always seemed I could get most of what I wanted in a car, but not everything. Of course, when you have cars made in limited amounts like 842 you gotta take what becomes available. Of course, what I really wanted was not avail at all - a stick. (I think there was only one 3 speed manual made in 70 polara rags). Either way, if I want to stay in the hobby I have to either a) settle for what is available in that model, b) build my own, or c) opt for a different model of some sort. I finally found a 68 Ambassador 4 speed that I have wanted for decades but it would need a rebody so I would be basically building my own there too. I am aware of a clean body but it is a diff color so imagine what it would take to paint the car.

My only other close desire is a finned car, which, unfortunately, are mostly automatics as well. Will has a good point...….I do not have hard core brand loyalty, I like stuff in pretty much every manufacturer.

Clear as mud? Yes, it is to me too. Good part now is I am not in any hurry. I have a 67 Ambassador now which I am keeping but I have another open bay in the garage.

Eclectic...:poke:

WHAT?????
HowTH did I miss this.
You'd love it Stan.....290 V8, 3 spd on the tree, overdrive, 3.54 axle, AC. It's a Cali black plate car. It needed the emg brake cables replaced when I got it so I ordered all 3 and was able to change them with a 3/8" socket and box wrench. No penetrating oil needed!

I posted when I was having issues with the rear brakes getting hot and seeming to wear unevenly.....didn't you see that thread?

That 60 Wagon has been available for about 2 years now. Price went up $1,000 in the last year. Neat car, seller is difficult to contact. Good luck!
