Looking for best 300 and Imperial convertibles for Prestigious Detroit Concours Event

That will be great Mike, by all means ...... drive Goldie up. She's more qualified to show then Jazebelle.

I hope to have enough miles on her by then to feel comfortable for a longer trip, but nothing like the one you will be taking. I have always planned on her being a driver, no trailer queen here either. You are to kind on your complement, but I still have a lot of things little I want to address on the car.

We will be busy in July ........ Bama to Carlisle and back towing a pop up camper ..... Then Bama to Michigan and back.
And don't sweat the little things .......... No such thing as the perfect car, especially one thats driven.

Dang....I can't wait until I can do that full time.

A couple more years!!!

I stepped up and submitted photos of Jazebelle for concideration of invitation to participate in the Concourse d'Elegance Americana ........ She has been accepted .....!!!!!

I don't know if anyone here has ever been to a concourse d'Elegance, (Meadowbrook/Americana or Pebble Beach in the west), but it dosen't get much better as far as shows go. So we are pretty excited.

The tough part will be a trip to Michigan just two weeks after Carlisle.

Thanks for stepping up and making the commitment to fly the Mopar flag. :sSig_thanks:

The category is officially dubbed American Postwar 1960-1970 and will consist of twelve large body domestic convertibles. (all convertibles). A majority of the cars in this group our performance oriented, and all our drop-dead gorgeous.

I encourage everyone to consider joining us, as this is indeed one of the very best and most prestigious Concours events. The diversity of the show and the overall quality is absolutely outstanding. For more info, please see www.concoursusa.org and I hope to see you there!

We do have some great Chrysler products throughout the show, including some great Exner cars, several 50's vintage 300's and some beautiful classics.

My American Muscle group is also Mopar strong, with 440-4, 440-6 and Hemi Superbirds, 440 and 426 Hemi Daytonas and a 426 Hemi Charger 500.

THANKS!

We received the invitation for the Concours d'Elegance in Michigan next July. Friday and Saturday previous to the Sunday concours are filled with events and tours, including a visit to the Roush collection in Livonia ...... My old shop. I look forward to seeing several of my restorations again and visiting with old friends.

Well ...... I received our participation packet for the Concorse d'Elegance yesterday. The show is a no cost invitational but the related activities are definantly not inline with a fixed income.
The schedule of events we received earlier listed several fun events starting friday morning, through Saturday and during the show on Sunday...... No mention of additional cost so Ellie and I were looking forward to attending all we could.

A tour of one meseum that I had a hand in developing in the early 90's and which houses several of my restorations is going to cost us $125.00 ..........!
You don't want to know the cost of the evening activities......

I have family and friends in the area that will be fun to catch up with, and we will have a great time at the show on Sunday.
As usual with Ellie and I ....... It's the journey ...... not so much the destination.

WILLLLL. You and Ellie gonna be at the Concourse Americana in Northville in late July? You know that place iz less then 1/2 hour from the Olson Ponderosa? Hell, Jack Roushes place on Plymouth rd. iz only 1/2 hour from us. Where you think the s.s. reverse flow mufflerz came from for the Batwagon? Some time on that trip we expect ah visit!

Will, you worked for Roushe, right?

OK guys ........ It's Roush ......... Jack Roush. Rousches sounds like a french chocolate. And yes, I worked for him for 6 years.

Something has always bothered me.
How IS(!) it pronounced? Lol
Really Stan ...... That bothers you ....? :poke:

It's pronounced just as it's spelled. (ROUW-SH). It's a German name.

Jack is a very intense and intelligent man. I worked on his personal vehicles and took direction directly from him. I learned a lot, about a lot of things, from that man. I hired in there in 1988 with the conception of the Roush racing special vehicles department, (AKA the toy store), now known as the Roush automobile collection and museum.
It was also the ground floor for the current Roush Mustang program. We would build street Mustangs for clients from Fox platform, (body in white) mustangs including carbon fiber body panels, full roll cages, brake and suspension packages and of course special engines. Some bad *** Mustangs came out of our shops.

I've also been involved with the restoration of several original Shelby Cobra's. There were usually 2-3 in the shop at any giving time.

I left in 1995 to escape the Michigan winters. Maybe a foolish move but I never looked back. I still see Jack a couple times a year.

Seems they went with the German meaning of the word "Konkurs" which means bankrupcy. :)
