Looks like the C body Dry Dock is in Dry Dock......

The way it is over at The Dock is exactly like the small talk banter amongst people stuck at the same table with eight other strangers at the reception after your wife's cousin's youngest daughter's wedding.
All pleasantries and trying to show your best sides. When that blonde with all the gaudy jewelry says 'ya know, she sure was an ugly bride', every gasps and have a sip of water. Here, we say, 'yah, how much did the father pay the guy to marry his daughter'

It's those "same individuals" that tend to be the givers.[/QUOTE]

It's ok to name names here..... "Same individuals"..... Is just SO inpersonal. If you take issue with something someone here says.... Call them out....
We live for that.....

A lot of very knowledgeable C-Body guys here. Threads turn in every direction...that's what keeps this forum interesting. Very opinionated people that are very vocal with their vision of C-Bodies. Do I agree with every opinion...absolutely not. But I take all opinions with a grain of salt and drive on. There is a lot of good natured ribbing going on that some may not like. All I can say is stick around and see how things go.......

I think you might have misunderstood my point, meaning those same individuals are usually the givers of information. The digs are what keeps us coming back.

I don't believe he is taking issue with anyone here. I think he's saying that the same guys busting chops here are also the same guys that are helping those looking for help.

Beat me to it

I agree....I've seen more insults dished out over here than over on the Dock. Plus the thread hijacking by the same individuals here is annoying as hell.

that's all we do here is hijack......but the conversation usually takes an interesting turn, so most don't mind.

I agree with Will. To add to it would be to say that this is the local car guys garage where the local guys are hanging out but from across the globe. Good ribbing, learning and teaching here. Would you stay on topic at your buddies garage with a dozen guys in it talking shop?
no but they are some here that would get there *** tossed out ofmy garage and told to not return

While I prefer this board for all the reasons mentioned above I`m not quick to slag the old Drydock. Some of the technical discussions there are a great resource. I`ve received some useful info over there. There are also some good guys but with a few dickheads thrown in for good measure.

Well, look at Nick here, he's what? 18? There are a few 20 and 30 somethings on the Dock So yeah, they're all under 80

Dave you are correct about my age, I bought my C because I liked it and couldn't go wrong with the price..............................this was my primary argument with the parents....................................................................then again I'm a minority (C body owners under 20, and well as my parents have told me many times, I should have been born in '72)

On the Subject of A bodies I'm currently trying to convince the local scrapyard to sell me a rotted out '73 Dart Hard top coupe he has. That will hopefully be my next Mopar.

Nick

NAaaaaa...... Were on the same page.
You obviously get it.... This is the go to place for C-body knowledge. But some newbies haven't tuned into the general attitude of the comradeary at this site. The dock tends to be a little to serious and "staunch". Here we try to keep things on the light side, and still learn from one another. No milicious intent.

Someone has to carry on the C-bocy flag and I for one am always ready to share knowledge with the younger members here, (and on the dock). But might as well have some fun too. Ya never know.... even this old fart might learn something....

Maybe the spammer problem they have been having recently will be dealt with in this upgrade.

I've offered to buy the site from him a few times, he wouldnt have a spammer problem if he took me up on my offers. :)

there are two different sites for Cs now. The dock is more stiff and topic related. Here the members talk about nearly everything anywhere.

I think it would be a disaster.
Case in point. I used to be extremely active in the top two Corvette Forums. DigitalCorvettes and CorvetteForum. Two extremely different types of identities. The two were constantly at each other's throats. Jerks. Pompous asses. Imature. Wannabes. Back and forth non-stop. Same type of scenario.
CorvetteForum made a policy change that pissed off a ton of members and they fled to Digital. Well, the two didn't mix and all hell broke out. It took a lot of spankings behind the woodshed to quiet things down and you know what? Most of the guys who came over to Digital went back to CorvetteForum.

Keep the two different styles apart.
Merge them and I see a lose-lose situation. My two cents, Joey.
