This evening I got the broken blade off and plugged it in and tried it...motor powered up but shaft would not turn, and I was sad. So shut it off and gave the head a whack on the bench and tried it again and now it works! No idea if this will last or fail again once there is a blade in place but it's a turning for now.

AWHHhhhhhh...... The ole, wack it on the bench method. I used to have an old TV that wouldn't come on until I wacked it on the side with my hand.

I have a Milwaukee got it as a Christmas gift. It works well. I mostly buy the cheap harbor freight ones 3 at a time on sale. When they S.T.B. I hit them with a 20# sledge a few times and recycle the parts, steel, aluminum, and copper, plastic in the trash.
