It's September 1973. William, the then 47-year-old son of Polish immigrants who settled near Detroit before the war, goes to LOCHMOOR CHRYSLER-PLYMOUTH, inc. 4 miles from his home. 18165 Mack DETROIT and picks up a new Imperial. (1970 photo gallery - Google photo) Probably around 1984, the family moves to southern California and the car remains in William's hands until his death. After our hero's death, his wife and her brother take care of the cars (in the garage, the photos also show a red Corvette C4; on the wall you can see a sign with the words parking only for Polish ). Looking for a successor to the Caprice Classic Wagon 1983 at the end of 2021, we come across its sale announcement. I did not believe that such cars exist and that I would be able to find a car in such a condition and with history. I quickly throw in a few photos. More photos will be available in a few weeks as we carry out the first repairs and service of the car. The condition of this car is a pefrect. Everything is in its place, each clip, plastic, the door closes with a click of a finger, the seals, as a new whole car is well-preserved, plus a lot of documents, bills, treasures in the trunk and these keys in a Chrysler case. The owner tried to make a few modifications: he installed the CB Phone (for which he had the appropriate license and permit), the caps from the Imperial `83, glued the gaps on the sides of the hood and the lid and installed fake hinges on the roof (surprisingly with the imperial logo - I couldn't find any info or to ori element)

Chrysler is back from spring service/repair

what's new ?

-new front brake pads - AcDelco
-new rear brake cylinders
-new brake pump (USA) + fluid
-new vacuum servo - bought in the USA
-rebuilt steering gear - bought in the USA
-rebuilt starter
-new power steering pump
-two old mufflers replaced by a larger one - it sounds nice

Then it was time for spring cleaning. I decided to wash the seats and the back seat and refresh the floor coverings. I devoted two afternoons. I am satisfied with the effect. The upholstery has gained a beautiful honey-golden color

Glad you are doing such great things with this time capsule. It reminds me of the 72 LeBaron my grandparents bought for their 50th wedding anniversary in Sept 1971. He died unexpectedly 6 months later which is still a shock to this day. I got to learn to drive on in spring 1974 and took my wife of nearly 47 years on our first date to high School prom on May 17, 1975. Ours had the green brocade interior cloth and all options except sun roof, anti skid brakes and leather seating. Best wishes keeping it as nice as you can for as long as you can.

Do you still have original wheel covers but like the later Imperial versions better? I guess we would describe this as the Imperial LeBaron Town Landau edition with those non factory bars on the C pillar. LOL!

That seat upholstery looks great - "Brocadalicious" is what I call it. Nice to see these American Yank Tanks in Poland!

First ower worked 43 years for Chrysler Corporation, ending his career there as Supervisor of the Body and Trim Departments at the Jefferson Assembly Plant in Detroit where the Imperial was built.
He put the hubcaps on the wheels from the 83 model, decorated the car with self-applied stripes and installed non-factory bars on the C pillar (perhaps he did it himself or on special order at the factory).

That seat upholstery looks great - "Brocadalicious" is what I call it. Nice to see these American Yank Tanks in Poland!
