Master Cylinder Issues?

I think I may have mentioned before that it feels like my brakes drag. I went to visit a local guy today who has two Imperials, '60 and '64 convertibles, and he noticed the same thing. I can usually smell brakes when I pull into a parking lot, and at first I attributed that to new pads and rotors.

But when you press on the brake pedal at a stop light, the pedal gradually sinks to the floor. I had figured this was a vacuum leak, but I was just told that is classic master cylinder issue. Combined with the brake drag, it was further evidence.

Looking at the FSM, I'm thinking that's the diagnosis. "Pedal goes to the floor" has master cylinder as a cause, and "Dragging brakes" has "master cylinder cup sticking" as well as "Obstructed master cylinder relief port" as causes.

So a few questions;

1) probably the master cylinder, right?
2) For bench bleeding, what's the best way to fab up the brake lines that curve into the reservoir? Or are they purchaseable?
3) What is the "master cylinder relief port?" The fix is to supposedly blow it out with compressed air. I know that's probably not the problem, since that doesn't address my sinking pedal, but none of the diagrams label this part. I see "residual pressure valve" but not "master cylinder relief port."

Thanks,

Jonathan

Yes. They have been replaced. Good question, though, because I did all the brake work, including rebuilt calipers, and forgot to do rubber hoses at the same time. So I got to have my brakes bled twice!
