No different in the States. Try to rent a car trailer from U-Haul. You won't believe the thrash they put you through...their computer said that my truck (rated for 7000 lbs) couldn't tow a 3000lb truck on their 2000lb trailer (for a total weight of 5000lb). It's crazy nowadays.

I do that too. I tell them my F150 is a SD250 and I'm towing a Geo...

My truck can pull 9950 lbs. The problem is the car.....it's 79.50" wide and the max car hauler U-Haul has will handle 79.25". I can squeeze a 1/4" on the trailer. The trailer is 2150 lbs and the car is 4670 lbs I believe. My truck can handle 6830 lbs with no problem.

Thats the way you gotta do it, Six years ago I towed a 71 Polara from PA on a U haul trailer. Told them it was for towing a dart. Towed it with a 2500, they couldnt ***** about the tow rating

The funny part is when I picked up the trailer today I didn't remember what car I told them I was hauling on the phone when I was reserving the trailer. He asked again what car I was towing and I told him a 82 K-car. He just looked at me and shook his head.
