Might be driving up to Atlanta

This place sells mostly classic cars and the ads all seem way off... I wouldn't have too high expectations.

Ok I'm headed there with camera in a few min. Will look at the spot near the taillight everywhere else.

Don't worry about me. Worry about him. I understand it's on the "wrong side of the tracks"....

Ok I'm back. It wasn't a 'bad' part of town, just a typical 4-lane commercial strip. The place was absolutely packed with cars, from Bentley's and BMW's to at least a dozen old cars around back. There was even another '67 Newport, white, that had a few dents. The keys to the black one were MIA but a mechanic came with a battery and with some wires and with a sniff of starting fluid the 383 started instantly. While they were searching for the keys I took pics. The car has been partially repainted. Underneath still had thick undercoating, the only rust I found was the front driver's floorpan and right in front of the rear bumper. Without keys I was unable to inspect the trunk. Under the doors, rockers, fender skirts and hood were all rust free. The oil was dirty but not horrible, trans fluid and radiator inside nice. Brake fluid a tad low but clean. Headlights worked but wipers did not. No cracks in glass or dash. Exterior driver's a-piller trim missing. Smelled musty but not terribly so. Two seams of headliner have come undone, and the driver's seat was torn. Drivers rear quarter window mechanism stripped. Tailpipe not greasy. Due to the cars being packed all around the car, I did not drive it. 005.jpg001.jpg005.jpg004.jpg008.jpg009.jpg017.jpg013.jpgThe engine ran well and the car passed PA inspection in 5/09. After a few minutes, the car started bogging down (stuck choke?) and stalled so we disconnected the battery and I went inside. The owner(?) was maybe Iranian and very smiley and schmoozy. I told him I would think about it. IMO this is at most a $4000 car, especially without a/c, Thanks Stan for the fun outing! A few more pics coming....

Oh yes btw it does not have a/c...a black car in FL without a/c.....

I can't thank you enough! I owe ya, brother.
The pics told it all.
Those lying muthuh*******S!!!! I waited five minutes on the phone while Ali went out to "Check for himself" that it had A/C.
That is a $1,000 car.

Again, MUCH, MUCH, thanks.

PS: this alone would not make me want the car even if it was free...

Glad I could help for a change; I have received so much help on these sites.

Yeah Ali was a slippery one, I would not have relished the prospect of dealing with him.

and do you see in the first pic, you can see the white car on the right side of the pic? like when was the last time they washed the freaking car?

Fall Carlisle next weekend!

Off with Ali's head and deport his *** to wherever those Russian cop cars are at!

Bummer, too bad.

Fall Carlisle....

Fall Carlisle next weekend![/QUOTE]

Hey mark. Seeing as your right there I'm guessing you might be attending the Fall Carlisle event.
If you need something to do....LOL .... Would you keep an eye out for a road wheel center dome..... or an entire center piece. Two nice used would be great. A couple of mine have some minor pitting in the chrome.
Also.... Left and right exterior door handles for 1969-70, (maybe 71) chrysler or Imperial. The number on the right handle is 2962976. They are different then the C body Plymouth & Dodge and have a "detail groove" on the edge. Again nice used with good chrome, or reasonable NOS.

Appreciate anything you can find.

Will, The spring and Fall Carlisle have very few Chrysler parts. I hope they do for all ours sakes.......

what is thAT SMALL PEICE NEXT TO THE DOOR HANDLe Will? Yes, i'm going, will scour the place, i expect to take the day off friday and spend all morning over there. getting back to exercising, so maybe i'll walk over.

Thats the wheel center cap that goes on top of the dome/cone.

Dont think I am going to Carlisle. Saving my time and money for Hershey

oh just the cap, not the whole dome, which is what i was thinking...............i'll keep an eye out

grounds are coming to life, tents going up, a few cars have popped up at the expo center, by wed it'll be busy. there will be plenty of ford and gm cars if I want one of those, or maybe even b/e bodies, but my guess is 5 or less c's in the corral. i'll take my camera
