Hello,

I am just checking if there is any Active US Military on this forum. If you don't want to respond publicly just send me a PM. I just finished BCT and am working on my advanced training to become an Army Trombonist. Being that I just recently finishing Basic training, I am pretty excited to get back to reading about your projects and new and fancy C bodies. And to catch up with all of the gossip that this forum includes.

A few questions on people who are active, were you able to move your car around easily? I would hate to send it to storage for years... but I don't know what is allowed, being my car isn't in fully operational condition. My wife and I have talked about taking the car to be finished but that would be a significant amount of money that we don't have yet.

Well thats about it.

Thanks in advance

Eric

I have no idea but thanks for your service!:sFl_america2:

There are several ex Active Duty guys here .. and at least 1 current AD guy.

I'm sending my phone / email. I suggest you talk to several as there are as many possibilities with a career serviceman as there are servicemen.

I didn't move that often but when I did it was back and forth to TX /England / TX / IL / England

W/O re-reading your posts I don't know that much about your Polara .. I know it's a convert which is really cool.

It may be better to sell and save your penny's and get a better car later down the road vs hauling it to wherever you wind up and you definitely don't want to pay high storage fees .. do you have any long time family friends with barns and space maybe ??

I'm from Illinois and I hauled cars back and forth to Texas many times .. not different for service guys than others living away from home and family. Get there, get set up, go get a rental trailer, and go home to haul the car to your new digs. The military won't help with that but it's not that big a deal if you plan a family visit into the trip.
