Hi, Mopar friends, which of you live near Monaca Pennsylvania? I need help with buying a car. Thanks Richard
Just west of Pittsburgh PA, not me.
Hey, thanks for your response, and hopefully someone else who lives really close will respond toThat's over an hour away for me. There are a couple of guys down that way though. Maybe they will chime in.
Hey, thanks for your response. You're right, that's the car in question. The problem is that I live in the Netherlands (Europe). I have been in contact with the owner, but when I told him that I am from the Netherlands, he stopped talking to me. From what I read in the ad it is an original car, with original paint, with rust on the rear passenger quarter. I would actually like someone to look for me and take pictures. And if I really like it, someone will buy it for me. For a fee, of course. Hopefully you understand what I mean. And I've bought cars in The Usa before, so I know how it worksThat's about a half hour from me, I'm very familiar with the town. Maybe you're looking at a car I posted a while back, a '69 Newport convert?
1969 Chrysler Newport - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle...
I see they posted some new pics of the quarters which appear quite rotten. Other issues are likely present.
I can take a look at it if you're really interested. Have to say that guy sounds like a jackass when he says he doesn't want to answer a lot of questions.Hey, thanks for your response. Pennsylvania is a rust belt state & they've heavily used salt in the winter for at least the last 75 years. Old cars that survive & are from this area have to be put away religiously every winter. I don't believe this car was one of those.
From what I see in the 2 pics of the quarter it had a crappy bondo repair that came through badly. The seam over the wheel opening was smoothed over. I would expect the other quarter to be similarly full of bondo. The inner quarters & trunk are probably a mess too.
