Another pic of his Duster

Glidden vs Kinnette

The 340 W2 Arrow of Bob Glidden. Jim Kinnettes Hemi Volare. This was his Duster & was rebodied. It briefly held the NHRA ET record. As a side note of interest. Glidden was having a Volare built for the 80 season. The deal with Chrysler fell through & that car ended up with Kinnette.

Hillbilly & The Grump

Great story of Roy beating Larry Lombardo driving Bill Jenkins Chevy. Referring to Marice Petty. That's Roy in the light blue shirt with the Petty Enterprises patch on his shoulder. He's standing with Don The Snake Prudome of Mongoose & Snake fame.

Bobby Yowell

Bobby Yowell took a turn in the "Kid" Dart Sport. Unfortunately this car was sold to a sportsman racer who crashed it while testing in Flordia. He passed away. I have been told it was a bad one

Battle of the Arrows

Alban Gauither's Hemi Arrow vs Bob Gliddens 340 W2 small block. Also a pic of Alban's Hemi. This was taken at Race Way Park in Jersey 1979

It looks like Alban has a holeshot on Bob. Bob was not known for his tree cutting. He was known for his power

Progression of a Duster

This is The Duster that Arlen Vanke built & raced in Pro Stock. He sold it to Charlie Castaldo who sold it to Jim Kinnette. Jim raced it & updated it to a Volare so it would remain legal. This car still is around today.

No it has a 487 CID Hemi with a A990 magnesium intake and aluminum heads. It is a stroked, lightened, sleeper street racer waaaay before the magazines made that a popular theme.

Also reported that once the reputation grew Chrysler supposedly sent parts to make sure he stayed on top. making it a defacto factory street racer.
