Don't know when the last time was I saw an original Coronet 440 ht., guess they all got turned into Super Bees or RTs. What's wrong with leaving them as is ?

Nothing wrong with leaving them as is.
It's really nice to leave a lot of these cars as-is.
One problem, though.
People who buy cars don't have to take an IQ test.

Nope. The first C body I ever drove was a 69 Fury 2, 2 door post. First C I owned was a rusty 69 Fury 3 4 door hardtop that I bought as a parts car, and liked the looks enough that when the post car presented itself a month later, it was done deal. I was 18 at the time, so of course that post car got air shocks, aluminum slots with 60 series rubber, and an under dash cassette deck. Oh, and flat black primer cause it was a gold car with black primer quarters and a light blue fender when I got it, and I replaced the rusty deck lid with the dark blue one from the 4 door. My minimum wage job couldn't afford paint back then, but a case of rattle can primer was within my finances. God I miss that car.

Would be nice but most who do that are your age and mine. When I went to that Mopar show and saw nothing but SuperBees and the like I wondered what the hell was going on. Must be everyone that was sold in California back then was at the show as I sure don't recall that many seen back in the actual time frame. Every owner was pushing 60 or past and in depth inspection revealed lots of clones.

Got that right. The "clone" craze that appears to be gaining steam (ex. turning Coronet 440 into Superbee) IMHO can only lead to no good. Saw more than a few at Carlisle.

There's a guy on moparts who pulled the 440/727 combo out of nicely optioned (his words) 70' Chrysler 300 coup to put into a "fake" (my words) superbee (it was born a Coronet 440). I'm not sure if the 300 was road worthy although in the pic he posted it appeared to be. Anyway I wanted to throw up. This kind of makes me feel the same way.

I know where there is a '70 300 coupe sitting sans motor, trans and front seats, wonder if it's the donor car. I didn't look at the fender tag, but it seemed like a decently equipped car. I think I would rather had the gentleman's muscle car rather than the clone.

Got the exhaust done Monday night. Ran 2 1/4 back to a pair of glass packs under the rear seat, then 2 inch tailpipes straight out the back. Can you say cackle? My daughter, age six, was deeply disappointed because the car is now "too quiet". I am convinced that she's a redneck motorhead. Thank God!
While at the garage, somebody came in, looked at the car, and immediately began talking about the movie "Moonrunners". Guess I never really thought of it as a whiskey car.

Since the 383 was pulled by the guy I got the car from, and the 383 I have needs rebuilt, the Y pipe wasn't going to work with the temporary 318. The tailpipe was pretty crusty, and almost broke off upon removal. Still had good factory hangers, but the pipe itself not so much.

Probably not happening in the near future. This is the first car that my gearhead six year old daughter has "helped" me on, and I think she is more proud of the car than I am. Kinda makes it a keeper.

Paul Amato? Now that brings back memories, way back in the day when I was learning the internet in Australia I had a guy contact me asking if i could get him an Aussie Dodge Phoenix hardtop (1970 PLymouth Fury hardtop) and he would swap it for any type of fury in return, coupe or convertible, even sent me pics, i got all excited at first then thought hang on, it costs like 5000 to ship a car to the USA and he has Plymouth Furies already over there? i didnt bother to keep in contact. But that's Paul Amato, i do remember the name.
