My D440 project

liking great bob , i changed out the rear springs on mine 64 d100 when i put the 3. 54 9 1/4 limitedslip under it . modified a spring package from a maxi van . no more spring rap up and it handles better also . but i clamped the springs on the front side and the rear . and it hauls a 440 complete with a 727 behind it with ease .

Yea these traction bars I modified to clamp to the front spring section. My thinking is they will act like spring clamps & a track bar both. On paper they work flawlessly LOL

my 60 d100 was done different , placed the r/e on top the springs for a low profile stance . but there beefed up as well . and made to haul a load as well , lol;) . with the rb 6pck under the hood , i'm keeping the spring rap to a minimum , got the second leaf is under the spring eye mount , n these aren't thin leafs either .

Yes I have them. Haven't looked at them too close as they where off & lying in the bed when I got the truck. Hopefully they are ok.

I may have some spares if'n you need 'em.

That does look heavy duty. The two leafes under the spring eye look good

View attachment 143253 View attachment 143254 Got the D440 loaded up & will be headed to the MOPAR Madness event tomorrow. Traction bars install. Guess I'll find out tomorrow if they help. Check out that paint. Got 10 hours in that old paint & man does it shine. Got all that glue off the doors. I think I'm going to reinstall the side mouldings on the doors & fenders.

Thank you. Yes it is. I bought a set of Weld Racing wheels for it too. With good tires already mounted. Hope to get them on soon. The white wheels just aren't doing it for me.

WOW what a show. This is my favorite of all the area MOPAR events. I took some photos of the show cars & race cars. I'll upload them later. Just got home & tired. The ole D440 ran very well. I made 5 passes. The traction bars work. No wheel hopping that I could tell. However it has absolutely 0 traction off the line. Any gas at all & it blows the tires off. Unbelievable but it just does. Like launching on ice. The very first pass right off the trailer I left at 1100 RPM & it spun badly & clicked off a 15.20. The next three passes where worse. No matter how gentility I left as soon as I hit the throttle. I even tried letting air out of the rear tires. I was going to load the truck after that 4th pass but something on that last time ticket didn't add up so just to make sure I had not hurt the truck I made one more pass. I rolled off the line at idle & eased into the throttle then floored it. It didn't spin & im thinking this might be a good one if everything is ok. A good one it was. The truck clicked off a 14.99 pass!!!! And a 9.60 on the 1/8th. It's got a 14.80 in it if I can get off the line harder

Glad you had fun... I'm glad you found a way to finesse her out of spinning... but I couldnt help but think "what do you want, all the weight is on the front"...

Na it's a street truck. I bought a nice set of Weld wheels for it that have Nitto's already mounted. If I ever get time I'll put them on it. Right now I'm a little more focused on cosmetics as I want a cruiser to show off in

The white 63 Valiant is running a 360/727 He was TNT'ing looking for a 10 second pass. It's been 11.08 It was too hot & humid Saturday.

Had some time Saturday to work on the D440 a little. I installed R/T badges on each fender, the side mouldings back on the doors & I put some trim rings on the wheels.
