Here are a couple of pics of my dad's 1967 Fury III 2-door hardtop. This is the first car I ever rode in. My dad bought the car brand new. I wish I had this car today!

I sure wish I could find this car. I don't know if it is still around. My dad sold it in 1983, I was a young dumb kid at the time and said I didn't want it. He would have given it to me if I had wanted it, I sure kick myself today!! I would absolutely love to find one like it and if I did find one like it for sale I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
 
Any records of VIN or break down of options to help in the search for it or a replacement? I am always extremely jealous of individuals who have inherited old vehicles with history from family.
 
I have asked my mom if she might have any old papers on it but she doesn't. I remember the car was dark red with a red vinyl interior, bench seat column shift, 318 automatic with factory a/c, and AM/FM radio. I remember the license plate number but I doubt the motor vehicle agency could track down any info.
 
Well true Tu-tone cars are not that common so that would help narrow down the search. Sounds like a it had a few nice options!
 
That was a very spiffy-looking car! Equipment-wise, other than the AM/FM radio, a "normal" 318-engined car. Which CAN make finding one similar to it easier than not. Most of the 318 cars available now might be "estate" cars with lower miles, but probably most will be 4-doors, I suspect. To me, the fact it's a normal 2-dr hardtop, rather than a "Fastop" car, makes it unique and a bit better, as much as I liked the Fastop cars back then.

The '67 cars were kind of in a transition from painted two-tones to the vinyl topped two-tones. At this point in time, what's under the vinyl can be more important than having an original top on the car. Paint is a better option, in retrospect.

Try to keep your "heartbeat" slow enough that you do a better search for a similar car than buying the first one you find. The more basic cars have a certain allure to them, too, rather than the option-laden cars (more to go wrong, ultimately, but nice to have until they do).

Good luck with your quest! I am confident that you'll find something you'll enjoy driving and owning! And, you might find a Sport Fury bucket seats/console, 383 2bbl car that was just not "obtanium" for your family, back then, too.

Actually, you have a very similar car as the one being sought was a 318 car.
