I’m sure many of you saw the ad on Marketplace for this ‘69 Polara in Lima, OH. I fell in love with it at first sight. This green is my favorite color on these and the timing was perfect for me to purchase it.
The guy I bought it from owned it for about 15 years and he bought it from his uncle. His uncle had purchased it from the original owners estate around 1999-2000. It was originally sold in Van Wert, Ohio about 30 minutes from where I bought it in Lima. It only had approximately 500 miles put on it in the last 15 years. It is very original with only 67,850 miles on it. Original paint, interior, vinyl top etc. It has a 383. The factory 8 track player still works! It has been garage kept its entire life, and has been covered for at least the last 15 years. Unfortunately it was stored in a dirt floor garage for the last 15 years so it’s not as pristine underneath, but overall it’s still very nice.
I made a weekend out of the trip home to southeast PA by stopping at my dad’s in Detroit. The picture with the city skyline is of Detroit as we were leaving, wasn’t planned in advance but was definitely a cool shot!
Since I’ve had it I had to replace the front brake hoses, repacked the front wheel bearings and changed the oil. I purchased new 15x8 and 15x7 U.S. Wheels and the tires are 255/60/15 and 235/60/15. I added helper springs to the rear since the springs are a little weak.
If all goes well and I can get a few more items addressed, I will bring it to Carlisle on Saturday.
